Or the kind, that either wanted my things and would steal them, if given the chance, and even my man and Dad to our kids!, When our kids were all younger, they would use me as a babysitter(the kind that drops off 4 kids and says, I am just going grocery shopping and will be back in a couple hours, and either comes back for her kids, at bed time, or not even until the next day ! Or when, a couple hours, really means a couple days ! Maybe by the next afternoon, or dinnertime, or when I have given up, and they've had their baths, brushed their teeth, and are on their way - off to bed at my house). Partially, why I have always bought and kept, new t-brushes under the sink, or on a shelf-in the linen closet, and they've put their pj's on, and are ready for a bedtime story and off to bed they go! So, and sadly so... sometime after about a couple years of running that kind of gambit of potential friends, I went years avoiding even considering having a bestie. I ,honestly, didn't have the time, love, care,desire, to put into a true and closely-bonded sisterhood feeling with another girl ever again..... really. But, and sadly and Unfortunately, now that I do have some extra time, the kids are grown, and all but our son, has flown the coop, I am finding that I don't know how to be a friend with someone anymore outside of a "hi" and a hug, a cell number exchange, and a hopeful, maybe too optimistic-"bye for now" and have a good one! And never hear from or see them again.... it would really be nice to have a gf to pal around with and talk about girl stuff with. But the trust thing, I might still have reservations about that part, and that wouldn't be fair to anybody. You can be a really intuitive judge of character and STILL be fooled these days, as I believe there are more psycho females, than males in a population. Should I try ? Idk if I could be attentive enough anymore, and do the nice, spontaneous things I would do and take my friend to( I usually only had one bestie at a time, and no one else more than hi& bye aside from her. 1 is enough ! Anymore would be too distracting for me. I'm kinda simple that way. But any hoo. Am I not ok to be like this ? How old I even find a potential friend without the worries of them liking my hubby more than me in today's social climate and lack of anything being sacred anymore ? Is a friend even something attainable for me ? Anybody ? I can be pretty comical at the silliest of times, am loyal as all get out, thoughtful, kind, sweet, giving, loving. I was always that kind of friend, with those attributes. To me, it is like any relationship, it needs to be nurtured and attended to., or, like a garden, the weeds will come and your friends will go, kinda? Sorta?
