No he will not be alright. You have to understand, I am also an older man, after a certain age, you CAN'T rebuild. You will never get most of what was lost and now in a stage in your life when you are the most vulnerable. Retirement is not what young people think. It's not trips and comfort. Its prepping for when you are most vulnerable and unable to provide in ways when you were young. What is this guys supposed to do? Go back to the workforce? Take out a new mortgage? Find a woman his age that is not batshot crazy and completely undateable but you are left with the leftovers of leftovers? His wife in this story basically gave him a death sentence.

I think that makes a lot of sense. Women have sexual needs too, and if you're government property, then you go where they tell you. Even if you wanted to, you couldn't commit to her. That doesn't mean she has a license to cheat; it just means don't torture the woman by leaving her alone for years at a time. The clothing story happened to me. An ex of mine offered to fold my laundry while I cooked us dinner. She found a bra in my laundry. Eventually I convinced her that it belonged to my daughter. I'm so glad that I'm married. Both of us made an agreement that when we are done with each other (no longer want to be together) we will tell each other. However we both find each other smart and sexy . . . .So NO WAY would this mess come to mind. I feel sorry for these **superficial people** they lack morals and understanding love.

I remember reading an article in a woman's magazine 30 years ago and what I remember was that it claimed when women are unfaithful it's because they be neglected by their husband at home, they feel neglected whereas. when a man is unfaithful it's because he's trying his luck and playing the field. The man is always at fault, the man is always a bad guy, but the thing is things like this expose the truth, it is more likely to be women that are playing the field, trying their luck. it is easy for a woman to get men to sleep with her, not so a man to get a woman to sleep with him.

Any guy thinking of getting married needs a prenup. Remember, women always hold the upper hand in divorce cases. You're an idiot if you don't make her sign a prenup. Just remember, house-hers, money-hers, she gets half your pension/401K, even the kids. You give up your balls when you say "I do". Make sure you at least get those back.

Older male here. Woman seeks attention outside the marriage, and blames him for working so much. This can be a real problem, the wife not getting what she needs so she looks elsewhere. I have seen this in the Army with hubby gone for weeks or more, or worse, overseas on deployment. And on the mines with fly in fly out - Hubby is home 5 days out of three or four weeks. Though I understand why the woman seeks attention elsewhere, the woman should be honest with her man and before looking elsewhere, tell her hubby that she is lonely without him and needs more attention. Give him a chance to rectify her loneliness. May mean a drastic change to his career. On the other hand, wifey might never had been committed to monogamy even though she made the promise on the wedding day.

The sad thing isn't that women cheat, it's they are so bad at it. Leaving obvious text message trails etc because they face no consequences when caught. Worst case scenario they get divorced and get half his stuff. While some states have worked to change those laws, it's not all of them. I am also unsure if they apply to marriages done before the law passes as well.
