Hey, this video was actually extremely useful. I've been wearing glasses since I can't remember and buying a new pair has always been a really unpleasant ritual. However, you forgot to mention that a wrong temple length can be fixed by heating it and reshaping it (depending on the material). I've had it done a couple of times. I have unlimited free customer service where I have been buying them since my parents bought my first ones for the first time.

As much as there's often a premium for doing so, I'd say you're still better off shopping for them in person. The picture trick is an alright idea, but in person hopefully(if you got your vision checked as well) they can tell you what frame shape is best for you too...at least as far as prescription lenses go. When you throw a prescription lens in the mix, you now have to be worried about if frame x will distort your vision by curving too much, or being to tall, etc..

dont know if anyone will see this but temple length does not matter with wrap temples like oakley crosslinks as unlike drop temples they dont rely on ears for hold.as they come with long and short snap ons i tested both and found it to be personal preference,glasses just dont move.

I know im 5 years late, but maybe you still dont know this yet.. you can heat up the temple with a heat gun and bend the temple slightly to fit perfectly around your ear. Its easy and any can do it. used to work at sunglass shop, and we adjusted for many customers

Just in case anyone is wondering what is spot on his left eye. The brown spot on the eye is harmless and is a mole inside the eye. It's just one of those rare conditions it happens.

Well also, glasses that may rest on your cheek, if they are wire rims, you can adjust the nose piece. I am beginning to see why optometrist don't bother with numbers, they just let you try them on and it's what you like.. so be it. I have long eyelashes and I have to make sure my lashes don't rub against the lenses. Is there a size # for that? Also, optometrist dip the plastic frames in the hot sand and adjust them to fit. The main idea is your eyes are looking directly through the center of the lenses for the best look. Unless for certain styles like Wayfarers, which your eyes look through the top of the lenses.

Remember closing your eyes each time you are putting off or on your glasses. It’s very important for your eyes.

You forgot a 4th measurement... the overall width of the eyeglass frame. Look at the glasses from the front then measure it from one end to the other. MOST companies do Not publish that information esp. those online so even if the other 3 measurements 'appear right', the eyeglass frame may still NOT fit because, generally, it's too Small, esp. for males.
