@@nategwright absolutely. Take out nostalgia pandering and XY are mid at best (ORAS is better but remakes shouldn't be better). Legends-zaza Cannot afford to be less than amazing

@@HazeEmry I just realized that Gen 9 is the first gen since 5 to introduce more than 100 new Pokémon, which is kind of disappointing. Quantity is not necessarily everything and Gen 7/8 did hit a lot more home runs in the Pokémon designs than Gen 6, but having so few new mons does kinda hurt when you have a type specialist that has to fall back on basically all older Pokémon to have a team. When you factor out regional forms, Alola had basically no Dark types, and so you have Nanu who has a team with no truly new Pokémon. At least Gen 8 finally started to (barely) break the Kanto pander trend and started giving us regional forms for newer Pokémon and bringing back crossgen evolutions (still not a fan of a Gen 8 Champion having Gen 1 starter as his ace tho).

@@nategwright oh god yeah Nanu... I was so disappointed in him and the lack of dark types in general in Alola since I "specialise" in Dark, Bug, and Ice (horrendous favourites I know). Love him as a character tho. That said, Bug has been getting better through the years. THAT said, it sucks that Golisopod isn't in gen 9... While I do agree that quality > quantity, I'd say the quantity is important in gen 9 simply because there are 3 routes before you enter Area Zero and you can go through each route with an entirely different team. I wouldn't have tried out one of my now faves Arboliva if it weren't for the 3 routes for example. I usually make a team and stick with it . About Leon... Let's not talk about him. He doesn't deserve the breath coming out of my mouth

Seeing someone else appreciate dragonair made me so happy. It's literally my favorite pokemon of all time. Honestly, the amount of mid stage appreciation from alpha impressed me. So many just default to either the base form or the fully evolved form (myself mostly included, with dragonair really being my only exception), but I really respect him for actually considering them

Grovyle is loved by many for obvious reasons too. I always thought Grovyle was grass/dark and reverted back to grass with Sceptile since it learns Pursuit via level up. Thought it was some neat lore until I found out

I have a random love for Fraxure. It's not my favorite or anything, but it's such a solid middle stage that at times I even like it more than Haxorus. It's also got a stellar shiny. Honorable mention to Hakamo-o.

Of the two primal forms, I give it to Groudon. I'm a bigger fan of Kyogre, but the groudon form actually incorporated more omega symbols, the lava flowing on him is dope, and the overall design works better

I love stuff like this. Its so cool seeing people love pokemon that I've never really cared about. It's great that everyone can find a pokemon to love and each one has its fans. Like I really disliked most of the gen 9 pokemon but I love seeing that other people l9ve them. Sableye is the best guy though. Especially mega form. Ninetails, Perserker, and Piplup are also in the running. These are facts that can't be debated.

For me, basically any Pokemon that is cute, looks at least remotely like a cat, and/or is Psychic, Ghost (not Goth btw, just that I like the sheer diversity of designs), Water, or Grass. Also, Jaiden's commentary at around the 3:00 minute mark made this more valuable

Gen 2-5, shinies were mostly color shifting. A few, like legendaries and fan favorites (Charizard) were manually given colors, but this is why so many become the same ugly green, or you cam barely tell its shiny apart. Thats why giant woman had a shiny, lol
