Dan I think the problem is that “professional writers” in Hollywood aren’t given enough time to flesh out the story. When u work in the film industry, you are always given unfair and often shot time restrictions on your projects, unless Hollywood really likes you and gives you unlimited amount of time. This results in a lot of rushed ideas and cliched stories.

Cathal Carson true, which is a shame, Look at Westworld, they had a entire year to write season 2 which is awesome. Then walking dead, they will write episode by episode. Film one, write the next ECT

Unfortunately the problem with official movies that are done by big studios is that in the end the question is, "How much money will it make?", that's always the main concern and forever will be a main concern. Unless we somehow create a system like the one in Star Trek where money is rendered obsolete, maybe then, but I'd still look at movies by a studio with a pinch of salt

Too well thought out and not woke. This type of content does not ruin beloved franchises so it is not acceptable in todays hollywood

Yes, I agree (and thanks for the roundup summary) - but, as a separate, first-principles point of order: the entire Predator insertion into the Aliens universe shouldn't even exist (and ruins everything, IMO) - it's lame, silly, preposterous on its face - and is a superfluous, unforced error that would needlessly (and ruinously) complicate the already-complex difficulties with JUST the universe of the humans, their progenitors, and the Aliens/black goo... It now needs to be decidedly kept separate from the truly important universe, and timeline, of the core Aliens movies, as a silly, one-off, guilty-pleasure slasher concept. I mean, even in this (great) video's premise, we STILL haven't even BEGUN to describe or explore (and certainly not justify!) the Yautja's existence in the first place - as doing so for everyone ELSE's in this universe is ALREADY, of course, a prime challenge to do (serviceably), on its own - ALONE! Even simply taking the fact that, for some odd, strange, utterly inexplicable reason, these random-movie-ingredient 'Predators' happen to ALSO be - THEMSELVES! - _just_ like us, in their relatably similar hominid form, body parts attached in the same order/form, their heads/eyes/senses, their evolution and societies and architecture - EVERYTHING! It utterly ruins the seriousness and depth and work of how all things we know and dream up in/for the Aliens universe ACTUALLY DOES ADD UP (ideally, before fucking it all up, of course). There's a fundamental REAL continuity that even deserves to exist in the first place! It should be fundamentally respected and really explored!

yeah, thanks! It was hard to seal up the story since the "alphas" arent in any movies, so I had to find a way to have them exit the scene. If enough people like this 2.0 version like they did the first one, I'll do more alpha stories!!!!

If I remember right, I had them as part of the story as well. The main focus was keeping the alien movies intact, but I don't think Predator 1, 2, or Predators conflict.

If you watch the predator-free version of this, I think it explains that better. At any rate, they only went all bad ass on the predators in this version due to the threat they posed to life the alpha's created or found and cared about (on some level).

He is not counting the AvP movies, he chose to use the original AvP from the comics to connect them since the comics follow up after the ALIENS movie, but anyway the AvP movies are in a separate timeline and are not canon.

I interviewed an Alien franchise consultant, and he said the new direction is 3 different universes...Alien, Predator, and AVP. Any links between are only easter eggs and not canon. I personally always saw it as Alien on its own, then Predator and AVP on its own, like you do, but when someone at the company tells me, I changed my mind. AVP was canon for quite awhile though, but they changed that for Prometheus. He also said canon is fluid and can change. Disney does focus on canon, fox always ignored it. Its still fox, under a new name, but disney oversees them, so theres that.

@@scifiexplained I am unsurprised they're going for a new canon tbh Whenever companies make huge universes it always ends up with mistakes and needs a fix of sorts, multiverse is the easiest fix lol Also I tend to consider the vast majority of new media non-canon because of this sort of thing

When Disney got star wars, they focused on canon, and the comics and almost everything that came out was canon to the films. I bet they are doing the same with alien, as all new materials have been canon for the time being.

I agree and have a similar idea in mind for a newer version of this that would include alien covenant. Especially with John Spaights now confirming the idea of factions within the engineers.

No ide i think that the movies where never thought to be connected on this way the year and the c.... its wrong but yet the frenchise its awesome with this type of story added letter on would be great even tho the alphas never exsisted in the real story and the frenchise didn need a fix story but there you go some people whore try and exsperimenting with the original story and came up with better one who connects stuff places aliens humans and engeeners to a better lvl never seen before!

someday...been thinking of doing a newer version of the story since I've had time to think about it more. maybe the Alphas are related to the Engineers...an older group, a subset or branch that evolved differently. Even if I don't change it, I plan to do a newer version someday, and then an explained video on them.

I do, different film universe.

AVP, Alien, and Predator are each in their own seperate universe technically. AVP does have both predators and Alien however, so this video is in that world. Otherwise, AVP and Prometheus conflict.

I don't know blade runner that well, so I couldn't add it in. that said, its an easter egg that weyland was inspired by tyrell from blade runner, theres also one showing that Dallas worked for them in the past.

I mean, why not go to the beginning of the Predator story line, get a look at their beginning and better be able to understand how they fit into the whole story. I am truly an Alien and Predator Franchise fan. I have seen the movie’s at least over 1000 times since Alien came out in 1979. Yeah, even Fox has AVP and Predator out of the Alien franchise on their main website, likely due to the continuity errors. I enjoy AVP as its own seperate universe, or one with Predators standard universe as well. I only sought how to add AVP into the mix, and really didn't include the Predator films for this.
