1: Scott had wolfsbane in his inhaler since Theo gave it to him. 2: Scott didn't want to fight back or hurt Liam. 3: Liam has I.E.D, an anger issue that is very hard to control + super moon. 4: Scott has never killed anyone and doesn't want to. 5: Scott has lost his pack and got separated. That scene those 20seconds, best moment on TV series, after puting ULTIAMTUM on Decualion and going though ashwood and becoming ALPHA at end of season 3, and the fight with Alpha pack, were he eyes went RED for few seconds

Literally just watched this episode and realized something Liam's anger was amplified by the super moon, if Scott had used his anger or blood lust then Liam would probably be dead. Scott was weak but he could have still defeated Liam IF HE REALLY WANTED TO. BASICALLY HE JUST WANTED TO STAY ALIVE and not kill Liam of course. I love Scott and Tyler Posey.

Tiffany Gittens Actually Scott wouldn't win because of strength considering the fact that Liam has proved to be stronger than him many times. Scott would however beat Liam in Agility (Proven by how he jumped to the second floor in this battle while Liam had to take the stairs) and because Scott is a lot more experienced. Anger = Strength and neither Scott nor Liam has bloodlust, they just have anger, considering Liams IED, it's basically Liam (Rage, Strength and no control) VS Scott (Skills, Agility, Experience and smarts.)

well, physical strength is not everything in a fight, but Scott would beat Liam in a fight of pure strength, the reason why Liam seems stronger than Scott is because of his anger issues, the angriest he is the stronger he gets, but let's not forget something, Scott never fights at his 100% he never uses his full power, never his full strength, Scott always, always holds back, especially fighting against the ones he cares about or when in human form, he always keeps himself in check, Scott real strength is way superior to that of Liam, an example of his superior strength would be the scene of Eichen House in which Scott merely by standing up and roaring knock down 3 guards while Liam stands up and he has to actually push one guard to knock him out, Scott also throw like a kids toy a former Alpha, the difference in their bases as humans before turning into werewolves certainly affects their powers once they turned, so Liam is naturally stronger than Scott when he turned into a werewolf, but now scott not only is more experienced, skilled and agile than Liam and other werewolves, he also his stronger, but scott doesn't let out all his power because of fear to turn into a monster, Liam doesn't have the same problem or at least in the same way since scott is there to support him and help him with control and also because since Liam has anger issues when he lose it he just lose it and he barely can control himself.

Liam had anger issues which made him stronger and it was a supermoon plus scott not only was weakened by wolfsbane but was holding back too as not wanting to hurt liam I pretty sure if scott wanted and he went full he even beat deaculan at his strongest.

Idk why everyone says Scott is weak.. He is one of the strongest werewolves..power is not just about winning physical fights..and he has won physical fights..he kicks peters ass in s4..he saved sutomi's pack by fighting lots of ppl..he was the 1st supernatural creature to cross the mountain ash barrier.. He scared off a berserker with just a roar..he fought the inukite alone without his eyes..if that's not power I don't know what is..just bcoz he doesn't want to hurt ppl even his enemies doesn't make him weak.. That's just not who Scott McCall is..he has defeated all of his enemies without killing them..he always figures out a non-violent way to defeat his enemies.. That's true alpha Scott McCall..

scott is not the first supernatural creature to pass a mountain ash barrier hellhounds and it implies thatmountain ash barriers can be broken by werewolves but very rarely breaking a mountain ash barrier as a werewolf is more than strength it moving you're entire body in one direction no distractions you're mind body and soul moving in one direction and sheer force of will

first of all, Scott loves Liam the most (because he is his betta and best friend). at 2 Scott inhaled the ash of mountain ash for a long time, and it weakened him very much. At 3 Scott is so kind that even with the supermoon he had to try to obey the supermoon. at 4, he was weak because the true alpha is very dependent on the pack, and at that time the pack was on the verge of destruction, which made him a weak alpha (for a while). even Scott himself said in one of the episodes that the wounds healed immediately when the pack became united again.)

Reasons why Scott is the best alpha in this scenario 1. Scott didn’t want to hurt Liam even if it meant Scott dieing 2. Scott exhaled wolfbane for a few hours and or weeks after Theo gave him a fake replica enhaler 3. Alphas have to depend on there pack for strength as Scott said himself in season 2 not to mention the fact that his pack was in a absolute crisis and on the verge of falling apart when this fight happened. 4. Liam had an extreme anger disorder that made him exceptionally strong, that mixed with a super moon and was going to lose Haden whilst thinking that if Scott gave her the bite she would recover from her terminal condition. 5. Scott as a true alpha doesn’t kill and always figures out a more passive way to defeat his enemies. 6. Haden was Liam’s first love as he cherished her with all of his heart, like Scott did with Allison.

To be fair, scott's pack doesn't make him stronger perse since there's only one beta in the pack (2 if you consider Malia) and you need at least 3 betas to get stronger as a pack, the fact that scott's pack is so diverse with close to none werewolves means that the pack doesn't make him stronger perse but only mentally (like he is better because he has his friends)
