The lead singer of Alphaville is Marian Gold, who is now 69 years of age. This song released on September 20, 1984. Almost forty years later, and Mr. Gold still has it. An amazing voice! I just discovered "Forever Young" a week ago and it is already one of my favorite songs. How beautiful it is!

Extraordinary song. I was born in 1980, and Alphaville is the music of my childhood. I am glad I found this orchestral version. This is so beautiful, and I am also glad to see how the singer of the Alphaville has changed along the years. His voice is still powerful and very finely tuned to the song. I do believe this song is a universal message of eternal youth, no matter what your biological age may be. Deep inside of us, youth never dies, it always stays there. I use this opportunity to show my gratitude and deepest feelings to the members of the band for sharing such amazing gifts with the world. All I wish now for myself and for all the people in the world is to enjoy these masterpieces for many years ahead, and stay FOREVER YOUNG. THANK YOU, ALPHAVILLE! WITH LOVE FROM A ROMANIAN FRIEND.

Some idiots actually think he's singing to a pre-recorded track, despite all the little '"imperfections", variations in his voice when compared to the more polished studio version and less sustain in holding the notes due to his older voice. It's LIVE. Any fool can tell.

To think this only reached 98 in the UK charts when it was first released is beyond me. I know the 80’s was full of amazing songs but this has number 1 all over it and everyone knows the song. I suppose it just proves that charts means nothing when it comes to quality music.
