Ай бұрынMarian Gold interview, 5. Februar 2020: “For me, "Sounds Like A Melody" for a long time used to be the ugly little sister of "Big in Japan" and "Forever Young". That was because after the enormous success of "Big In Japan", we were asked by our record company just to write another "hit" and so we did. Hence "Sounds Like A Melody" became the perfect spitting image of a manufactured pop song to me. How much I actually was mistaken was first revealed when Martin Lister, who was Alphaville's musical director all through the 90s, convinced me to play the ditty on our concerts. It developed into a true pearl in our setlist and it became perfectly clear that at the time we wrote it, we couldn't go wrong, ingenious little bastards we were."

Das lag daran, daß wir nach dem enormen Erfolg von „Big In Japan“ von unserer Plattenfirma gebeten wurden, mal schnell einen weiteren „Hit“ zu schreiben, was wir taten. So wurde „Sounds Like A Melody“ für mich zum perfekten Ebenbild eines "fabrizierten" Popsongs. Wie sehr ich mich tatsächlich geirrt hatte, zeigte sich erst, als Martin Lister, der in den 90er Jahren der musikalische Leiter von Alphaville war, mich überredete, das Liedchen auf unseren Konzerten zu spielen. Es entwickelte sich zu einer wahren Perle auf unserer Setlist und mir wurde klar, dass wir zu der Zeit, als wir es schrieben, nichts falsch machen konnten, geniale kleine Bastarde, die wir waren.“

Da kann ich mich nur anschließen, gerade zu DDR Zeiten war es total verrückt mit den Recordern und Kassetten, die Preise waren ja extrem, für eine einfache leere Kassette 15-, Mark und dann den Recorder bis 1400-, M ,da kann man wirklich sagen das sind schöne Erinnerungen mit den Liedern verbunden 👌🙏👍😃

Genau . Auch wenn der Moderator öfter mal in den Titel reinquatschte, war man froh,ihn endlich auf Kassette zu haben. Ich war regelmäßiger Hörer der musikalischen Luftfracht. So hieß die Sendung damals, immer donnerstags.🕺👍😁

I'm glad Marian came around to liking this song. With how dreams are a recurring theme in Alphaville's music, I feel that the synths and simple lyrics work very well with his voice to convey the mood of a more fantasy-like sort of love in its narrative. It definitely has earned its place in their catalogue.

1984 EU nem era nascido mas cresci gostando e ouvindo ainda dentro da barriga de minha mãe em dia 9 de Agosto do ano 1992 nascia vim para o mundo e foi assim que esse amor pela música antigas dos anos 70, 80 e 90 surgiu atráves da minha mãe lembro ela ouvi tocar na rádio também tinha CD'S um MP3 com as diversas banda cantores e uma dessa playlist era Souds Like A Melody bom atualmente agora estou com 31 anos e até hoje ouço essa antiga maravilha de música quais tem muitas lembranças histórias e cheio de nostalgia uma canção jamais será esquecida. classíca
