People are saying how this could upset the children if it was in the film but is this REALLY one of Disney's darkest moments?

I really wish this scene stayed some how. It's late into the movie, but has such a larger impact on the viewer when Bolt finally learns he's not a super dog. It's graphic, but I really think it delivers the point that "hey, this is the real world."

In this scene, I was focusing more on how the directors interchange the scenes of Bolt as a superdog and him in real life. It was dramatic, but the fact that Bolt got hurt isn't.

This is way more effective than what they actually did in the film, but I can see why they cut it. This is brutal and painful to watch.

I honestly can't describe how much this scene gave a clear barrier between fantasy and reality, cause in Bolt's fantasy he always believes himself being able to hold on his own with little to no effort, having almost no scars or even any consequences. But in reality, this breaks every aspect of Bolt's fantasy since in reality Bolt never had any true fighting experience especially on bigger and muscled dogs. We clearly see Bolt able to take care of The Green Eye Man's jobbers with his power but with ease but in the fight, Bolt is now the jobber of the scene - no matter how confident or how hard he tried, he couldn't fight back at all. Now in the end, Bolt's bitemarks are true sign of reality and consequence. Since I don't know how much was the scene and the script changed, wanna know what upsets me? They seem to be in Vegas, the same environment after the end of "Barking at the Moon". This makes me upset since after how much Mittens helped Bolt about the real world, Bolt still somewhat believed that he is still a super dog and no matter how much Mittens helped him, Bolt was just not prepared about the real world. Since Mittens did started to like him in the movie, I still wonder how horrified she felt when he saw Bolt with all that scars.

Its really a shame this got cut. The movie is definately wonderful as is, but this would have added another great emotional scene (something Disney is really good at). Makes you wonder what it would have looked like fully animated.....

Rhino's actually in this scene, he was watching "BOLT" on the big screen which was used to interlace between Bolt's show acting and real life fighting.

this could have been great character development for bolt, the true wake up call that that was reality...

I'm so glad this didn't happen to Bolt in the movie those two bigger dogs could've ended up killing him and those injuries look really bad. Man imagine if Penny found out about Bolt getting attacked by these two bigger dogs She would become overprotective of him and be sure he doesn't get hurt by dogs bigger than him again and I wouldn't blame her for it.

Holy shit this is graphic for a Disney movie! I'm an adult so I would have loved it if they kept it, but I guess little kids would get too scared

To be honest, I feel a little bloodshed in some Disney films- in moments where there should have been bloodshed- wouldn't hurt

Well, I'm pretty relieved cause it'd be almost heart-breaking to see Bolt getting so over-confident to win against them and losing without putting much of a fight! ;_; *more below*

I still think that the directors properly removed this scene - "Bolt" yet children's cartoon, but this kind of testimony that the dog had no superpowers ... to put it mildly, not kind.

I never thought of Buzz or Toy Story when I watched this.

I used to have the dvd back in 2009, and me and my cousins decided to check the extras in the dvd menu, and then we saw this video. This was probably the most terrifying video I’ve ever seen in my life, most especially bolt’s head at the end.

Oh, I got it now! This was probably made early during the production, cause remember when this movie was gonna be called "American Dog"? Well, they must have changed the name, (and not the script) and used the Bolt from today to start out in Nevada, and then he must have met Mittens and Rhino along the way, and when they went to Vegas (Which must have been early in the movie), Bolt fights those two dogs while still thinking he has super powers! :D At least, I hope this makes more sense! ;)

Well, I finally broke down and bought the Deluxe Edition, and I'm very happy with it! I've watched both of those deleted scenes now, and I must say, they both would have been awesome if they had made the movie! I always felt like the movie could have used a little more drama...if only they could have made them fit...

When I first saw it, I was like "violence" that's why they dropped it, but it also side-tracks us from the journey. He's half way home; he's in Vegas; and right at this moment he finds out he's not a super-dog? Also they didn't spend much time in Las Vegas. It would have made it more intense, i'm not scared to see 'shadowed' animal fighting. Great work Kodi ;)

I think i've come up with a good spot where they could have put this, just for my own amusement i guess. :) Ok start at the scene where Mittens is in the tree and still tied to Bolt. Rhino ventures off to find a ladder. When Mitten refuses to come down, Bolt attempts the Super Bark and when it fails miserably, begins to bark madly. Rhino, meanwhile, is getting a ladder. (Sound familiar? Good)

WOW!!! That was awesome dude! Did you come up with that idea? And are those your drawings? Overall, I LOVE the way it's put together. I could totally picture that in the movie. I think that would be a much better way for Bolt to have discovered the truth. It's a little extreme for Disney, but if it was toned down a little, it would be perfect!

Despite the brutality of the scene there's something remotely good, that is that, despite all, Mittens so cares about Bolt. Maybe in this script they were friends from begining or not, but even if not she still cares about him despite consider him "a crazy dog" at first

Yeah, it's too bad, although there are some cool ideas in here about how they could have fit it. Well, I'm not sure if they're releasing the same versions of the DVD in your country, but in the US, basically there's the Single Disc version that is just the movie, and the Super Rhino clip. The Deluxe Edition is all that, plus deleted scenes, cast and crew interviews, a digital copy, and if you buy it @ Wal-Mart it comes with the comic book Yeah, the comic is really cool! I like it. :)

Fantastic scene! I agree that this would have been a much more emotional realization for Bolt and that it definitely should have been in the movie. I've been trying to think of where they could have put it where there would have to be as few changes made as possible. Unfortunately, I can't really think of any. I guess if you have to force a scene, it's a good thing they cut it.

Now unlike the movie, as Rhino pushes the ladder, he finds a TV in one of the shops and it's playing his favorite show, Bolt. He can't resist. Mittens succumbs to Bolts annoying barking and jumps from the tree. Seconds later, there's a growling heard from behind and they turn to see a pair of junk yard dogs heading straight toward them. They look at Mittens (kitty soup). Bolt jumps in front of Mittens, bites the fraying leash off her and yells for her to get back in the tree.

Wow, intense scene! I like dramatic and intense scenes in animation films, but on the other hand this is perhaps a tad bit too dark for little kids.

He'll deal with these guys. "Guys, you don't want to do this." Flashes to Rhino watching show. "You don't know what I'm capable of." Another flash. It then plays out like the fight scene up above. Mittens jumps out of the tree and tends to Bolts wounds. Due to his injuries, Bolt and Mittens aren't able to avoid the dog catcher and are whisked away to the pound.

Yeah it'll be good if they included this scene but then there're many scenes that come after that can't be used. Like the RV park scene where Rhino is introduced, the train and dog catcher scene where Bolt still thinks that he has superpowers. Another thing is that the setting for this Dog Fight scene is in Las Vagas. So it just can't fit in or a whole lot of changes need to be done.

Yeah, unfortunately they don't quite fit. Does your Deluxe Edition come with the comic book? The word "Deluxe" makes it sound all so mighty and awesome! =) I found out that the Bolt comic book follows the movie exactly, but they did a very good job and allowed for interesting perspectives and drawings.
