I literally got this record on accident. I had gone back to Poly Bridge 1 on a whim, and at this point I was trying to get a clean run to show Smithy the strats I'd been cooking up, and at the same time perhaps get a Personal Best (The 3:45 in my splits didn't record properly, so it doesn't count for speedrun.com). I chose to do this session in fullscreen, so I couldn't actually see my splits. That really helped a lot, because there was zero pressure going into the final few levels, which was a welcome change from my normal Poly Bridge WR attempt sessions. When I tabbed out after the run, I was completely shocked to see a "-20". As it turns out, my sum of best after the run was finished was a 3:19.0, so this run only had 6.1 seconds of timeloss. Enjoy the run!
Poly Bridge 1 is notorious for its RNG, but I managed to eliminate most of it using these strategies. The only really bad level was Level 3, but by starting on the left, and using this combination of wood and road, I believe it works more than half the time, which seems to be better than any of the other variations I tried. This level, and the level before, can each use one less piece, which would be slightly faster, but I didn't really want more RNG if I could help it. All of the tracer tool levels where I actually have to grab the tracer and move it around are, surprisingly, very consistent. I rarely had a single problem with them. I really focused a lot on on-grid strategies this time, as I wanted to get the most consistent run possible. With riskier strategies, the run could definitely be a bit faster.
P.S. After I did this run, me and Smithy did some more strat hunting, and we found a more consistent and equally fast strategy for 1-03, as well as a new strategy for 1-12. Perhaps this world has more potential than I thought...
