Beautiful drivers and great vid. Only reason I didn’t buy them is because they have a phase plug. In your opinion, would there be chuffing from between the phase plug and the coil if these were in a sealed chamber?

I did play them full excursion in free air and didn't hear any chuffing🤷🏻‍♂️

@@RAW-CAt yeah, on free air they’ll be fine, but once placed in a sealed chamber, the pressure pushes itself out from around the phase plug.

@@danielfajkis4952 the coil is sealed from the inside, as the motor has no vents. The coill cools only through the phase plug.

Which Alpine Amp(s) would you recommend to drive the Alpine Status set? Am looking at a complete overhaul of the HK system in my BMW 135i. Thanks

If you canafford, go for the Status amps, that's a perfect match. I will be runing the older X serries amps that were discontinued recently.

great job, I need advice would I be better passive or active one channel per speaker? and with a head unit with a DSP? just learning Cheers

Active is always better. Head unit doesn't matter much, however it would be ideal if you could find one with an optical.output.

I'm going active soon, the tweeter is a bit too bright for my liking. With a dsp I'll be able to tone it down and adjust the time alignment to have a better sound stage

Hi, I am currently using Alpine HDZ-653 powered by Alpine HDP-D90, I am planning to change the speakers with Hertz Mille Legends, is it worth the change

Definitely not. Maybe the tweeter only, but the midbass is killer on the Alpine.

@@RAW-CAt Thank you so much for your response, need your expert advice, in my current setup the front speakers are HDZ-653, the rears are ALPINE R2-S65C (2 way components) powered by HDP-D90, Sub is R2-W12D2/D4 in a sealed enclosure powered by HDA-M80, somehow I am not satisfied with the quality of sound, please advise if I am going wrong somewhere. Shall I go with active 3 way in the rear also, if I need to upgrade the tweeters then what make/model do you suggest.

hope they dont crack with time. they dont look that they cud last for a long time.

I`m running their DDlinear coaxials as rearfill from past 4 years and they are fine, however I have seen it crack in a sub.

Surround sound is in the processing and recording, not speakers. You can use any speaker drivers for surround.

I sell these, I asked Alpine, these are not ring radiator tweeters. Just wanted to clarify 😁. They look like it though!!

Alpine Status line has two different tweeters, one of them ir a ring radiator and the other is a metal dome.

@@RAW-CAt My opinion is to skip the music. It's not doing anything for your presentation other than killing the dynamics of the recording by filling the gaps between your speech and making your voice little harder to hear. Other than that a great presentation. :)
