Could also look at hard impact sports like Rugby, NFL, NHL, NRL etc. Would be a huge help in injury prevention on field.

With contact sports the airbag would need to be repacked after every down. Not sure what the solution is there. - Van

I would prefer to get this over the helite turtle 2 electronic, but my concerns are the lack of helmet/neck stabilization. Does the collarbone protection aid with preventing neck over extension with a helmet on?

can we get a video on how easy or hard it is to repack the airbag.... ? and more explaining the 2 deployment use, then after 4 uses have to send to alpinestars(is that in italy)

Just a heads up. My buddy just had a Tech Air 5 Deploy on him the first day he had it out and he didn't crash. Currently in a fight with Alpinestars to get it covered... was going to buy one myself until this happened. What a bummer I really wanted one!

We have used the Tech Air Race (and sold a ton of them and the 5) for several seasons and never had a false deployment. Since the systems were released we have only heard of a couple that deployed when they should not have. We have also had several who crashed and did not think it deployed when it did in fact deploy. When you send the unit into Alpinestars they can read the data from the crash to see if it should have deployed. If it was false I would expect they would cover it. - Van

I recently ate shit on my the gixxr and regret not having this. my left shoulder is really jazzed up. I can barely lift it up all the way. hopefully be riding again soon but forsure will need this one. I also ished my wrist up pretty bad and my hip is black/purple. lesson learned.

If you have the budget for an airbag system you should not be riding without it. Max and I never go on track without one and he now has the Alpinestars Off Road Vest as well. - Van

@@sportbiketrackgear yeah I am planning on getting one before getting back on the road again. I got a decent payout from the accident. Just need to fix my gixx'r and I will be getting that from a yall. I do not have the heart to let the gixx'r go. we have been thru too much.

My question is, if you ride on the street and wear a jacket with a pair of riding pants. Does the tail bone portion need to be tucked into the pants? Because I see it protrudes much lower then the waist line.

@@sportbiketrackgear thank you for the reply. I have looked at the tech air 5 but even without the tailbone protection, the tech air 7 still has better over all protection as compared to the 5, at least from research found.

@@Lucas-ie2ti I do not think the bottom of the 7 is going to be a problem for you. Remember you can always order it in and try it on before you ride in it to see if it works for you.

On a road bike with an upright seating position will the lower back protector interfere with your seat?

While this will depend on how long your torso is to some degree I do not expect a problem. The lower portion of this is very flexible so it will move with you. The shell of the protector stops well short of the bottom of the vest. - Van

Hey Van. I got the Tech Air 5 a few months ago so unfortunately, although I love the fact that this has more protection, I won't be changing the 5 for a while since it was quite an investment (100% worth it), but I don't know if getting the 7 is the right decision now. What's your opinion? Also, a bit unrelated but I live down here in Spain, and I know that in about 2 months we will likely be in 35+ degrees Celsius (very hot when going on track with full gear) and having an airbag (although I will always ride with it) does not help dissipate the heat. I came across a "cooling vest" from Alpinestars that apparently can cool you by up to 15 degrees, and from the images it looks very slim. So my question to you (other than whether the 7 is worth making a change to if you've just bought a 5 a few months ago) is: have you heard of this vest? Do you know people who have tried it? And if so, do you think this cooling vest can be used under the airbag? Again, just looking for options to not melt on track days in the summer and can't seem to find many reputable reviews on the cooling vest and whether it is safe/possible to wear under the airbag. Greatly appreciate any response Van. Keep up the great content! I have and keep learning tons on this channel😄

I would not add the cooling vest to the Tech Air Vest. IMO this will be too thick and distracting. While there are some advantages to the 7x the 5 is still an excellent unit that has proven to perform. It is easy to get distracted with the shinny new shit when you should be enjoying what you already have. - Van

Longer edit, Tom is working on that one now. Maybe later today. Yes the 7 can be washed like the 10. I would hand wash and not get it totally soaked. After you clean it let it air dry. - Van

Yes, this can be installed behind the liner in the Absolute suit. It can be zipped into any suit that accepts the Tech Air Race in the same manner the Race would be installed. - Van

I am too fat to wear anything under my outer clothes. I like the Helite E-GP Air Track Airbag Vest The Best .. It is Leather so it can survive to use again. You can wear it over your 1 pieice track suit or wear it over street riding gear.. Just put another Cannister in and you are good to use it again. You don't have to mail it back to the Factory to be reset. I have not seen the Helite Brand on the STG Web site

Not sure if Helite has a dealer network or not, they have never reached out to us. For airbags we are offering RST suits with integrated airbags and of course Alpinestars. - Van

I literally ordered yesterday GP Tech V3 suit to be able to run integrated Tech Air Race vest and have the LED indicators running on the left sleeve… Would go with V4 suit and this vest if I just waited additional 24hrs… 🙆🏼♀️🔫 Question: Any chance to connect LED indicators on the V3 suit with this new vest? Bonus question: Any chance to add LED indicators from this vest into the sleeve of the GP Tech V4 suit? Tnx & Cheers from Switzerland! 🤘🏻🍻

Yes the LED panel on that suit (or any other Tech Air Race compatible suit) will work with this vest. - Van

5.35 lbs in a size medium. I would expect the larger sizes to be pretty much the same. - Van

No, that suit is designed to work with the Tech Air 10. It can be used under the suit, you just won't be able to zip it in. - Van

Yes it will fit any Tech Air Compatible race suit. Can also be used in airbag compatible suits that do not offer Tech Air Race integration. - Van

iirc they made it possible to replace canisters for i think up to 5 deployments before it needs to be serviced by them

I would say this is more low profile than the 5. When Max was wearing it before we deployed it looked less bulky than the 5. This also has a little more coverage. - Van

No, I would say it is lower profile. I also like the design of the sleeve, it should make getting in on under a suit where it does not zip in much easier. - Van
