So basically, either Abe manipulated literally all their friends extremely well. Or Wendy did something that not only immediately lost trust with everyone, but also made several of them want to stop associating. Sounds like it's either cheating, DV (considering "I'm in a better place now" and the "she's nuts" it could fit), or something similarly intense so lets hope it's the first or the last, and not the middle option.
@dainpiagne46368 ай бұрын
it's very likely wendy's fault. Had it been ambiguous and were their friends involved into the discussion, they would have wanted to listen to both sides and have some proof of what was stated. And had it been abe's manipulation, and therefore a lie, she would have just called it out to her friends or even went public on it for the unjust ostracization from the group. How she just shut up and wanted to not talk about it just says she owned whatever she did and didn't want it to plague he online carreer
@DyslecticAttack8 ай бұрын
@@dainpiagne4636 okay, so first off, my comment implies heavily that it's not the manipulation, and that it's far more likely that Wendy did something to trigger this response herself, and that that thing is most likely cheating. So no need to try and convince me. And secondly, if Abe had that level of manipulation, it's not unlikely that Wendy would think nobody would belief her. "If she was right, she'd have just spoken out" is quite common in victim blaming. And for the logic you suggest to work, you need to assume that IF Abe manipulated everyone, that she has not only the proof to prove her own innocence, but also solid enough proof to prove Abe to be capable of that kind of lying. Which is a BIG assumption. And since it's very much not a watertight argument based in logic, especially since the exception reinforces itself, I'm quite uncomfortable with you trying to make it. It very much is not something I think happened here, but it's the type of argument that's very often weaponized against victims in the extreme situations....
@dainpiagne46368 ай бұрын
@@DyslecticAttack i think you're exaggerating the reaction to my reply. Free to do it, but i think it's a bit over the top. But i might have expressed myself bad, so i'll try and explain my thought process, even if it might make this a bit long. I wasn't trying to convince you. U clearly considered both options and expanded more on the wendy-being-faulty one; all i did was reinforce it with my opinion on it. And even if i were trying to do it, so what? You can contest and argue my points, like you did. I don't get the origin of this defensiveness. I guess we cool with it being cheating given abe's hints. otv&friends already had similar dramas and they always listened to everyone's version and asked for concrete proof to see what to do. And since abe called her out, he brought it first. Since it has to be something concrete, because i doubt by now you get before toast or even rae with just words, wendy would have had the possibility to use such evidence to her own advantage too and contradict abe. If the proof is just ambiguous(e.g. a pic of her in front of another guy at edc) i doubt so many of them could have taken it as a valid sign of cheating and cast her off. You wouldnt even call her out with just that unless you're crazy insecure. I think you're wrong in separating the two: if i prove my innocence i'm also proving he's lying. The only 2 occurences where that doesn't happen is if i prove he's lying on the evidence he brought but it so happens that i'm still guilty and he just had the wrong clues, or if he actually misinterpreted and came to a conclusion with evidence that doesn't really frame me in an undeniable way, the ambiguous case. The option where she was unjustly accused and no one believed her implies to me that abe is a chronic liar framing her and making up evidence for what? mental illness? afraid of divorcing normally? And she doesn't even try defending herself because she thinks people won't believe her? In a group where they're used to being wholesome and told to open up to each other and being offered to do so? Afraid even when he lives in another house ? She's okay being labeled a cheater with no regard to career, friendship and family knowing it? You'd only get to that state after long and consistent abuse, and not one of their friends would have noticed something was off now and before? Not even Lily(who iirc unfollowed her at the time too)? Now that to me is the BIG reach. So yes, i do think it's unlikely she thought no one would believe her. I know it can happen, but the circumstances here are even more favorable in avoiding it that the probability of it is so low to me to discard it. If i'll be proven wrong, i'll just admit to it. It is not about logic, it is about probability, and unless i have clear evidence or witness, i'll LEAN for now towards whatever i think has the most probability of happening or having happened with the info i have.

@blue-vr8dd8 ай бұрын
fr it's really pathetic. pretty annoying too.
@fredrickwheeler68528 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say no difference, but it's def similar. Main difference is that a movie actor or tv actor is playing a character and often plays many different characters. People who worship the actor rather than separating them from their work are a bit unhinged imo. Whereas streamers are often as real as they are persona. It's hard to play a character 100% of the time on stream and any persona they have is likely based on their real person. All this is to say that parasocial is bad either way, but I have slightly more sympathy for streamer situations because the medium is inherently more intimate and it's easier for people to think they know the streamer than with celebrities.
