@@ChathuraImbulagoda yes, i used to be a dispensationalist in the Charles Ryrie / Dwight Pentecost strain of thought. I am against all forms of dispensationalism especially those that tend to the “hyper” or “ultra” dispensational scheme - such as mid acts or the end of acts divisions. Dispensationalism was started by a Jesuit priest who wrote an eschatological work to counter the reformers arguments that the papacy was the antichrist. By making the Antichrist Jewish and separating the people of God, he was largely successful in making prophecy non-applicable to the church. Irving picked up his work, translated it, and passed on the teachings to JN Darby who popularized it through Scofield (whose bibles were funded by Jewish organizations) and DL Moody. Since it’s beginning there have been thousands of splinter groups - some accepting the logical implications of the system and “hyper” dividing the word, and others coming closer to a biblical position but still missing the mark (progressive dispensationalists).

@@ChathuraImbulagoda “departed from the faith”? That’s a strong accusation considering the mid acts position is very novel. JC O Hair died in the 1950’s and Stam in the 1970’s. Sorry every other Christian prior to the 1900’s doesn’t count as “the faith” for you.

@@classicchristianliterature All scripture is profitable, but that doesn't mean each prophecy is applicable to the Church. We're the prophecies about Cyrus and Josiah applicable to the church?

If you disagree with the hermeneutics of Christ and Paul (how they interpreted the OT) then I don’t see how you can be sure you’re interpreting any passage correctly. What specifically do you object to with being applied to Christ and His body (the church)?
