Matt and Amy are two Jeopardy GOATs and two of my favourite Jeopardy players, so it's shocking to see either of them in the red! Matt was in the red in game 9 of last year's Masters Tournament. Even Ken telling Amy she took her swings reminded me of Amy's 5th game when she told Matt King the same thing.

Matt can sympathize with Amy, because of that 1 game where Matt smartly wagered everything on that Daily Double to try to catch James Holzhauer, but it didn’t work, and he wound up with -2,000. It’s not as bad as Amy’s deficit position.

Now, Mattea Roach is the only player from the 2022 Tournament of Champions Exhibition Match, which they won, to have played FJ! in every game they have played. This is similar to Jonathan Fisher being the only player from the 10/11/21 match-up, which he won, to have played FJ! in every game he has played, and that was the day that he defeated 38-Day Champion: Matt Amodio.

Hi. I only watch final jep to see if I get it right so I’m totally ignorant of who the players are and about this masters tournament format. But I was wondering if you could help explain to me what you think that means (hardly any players not being in red) about the format of this tournament? Do you think it’s players having bad matchups against other players (in terms of specific subject knowledge of the day)? Or is it some other game strategy? Or the tournament format itself? Or are Roach and Fisher better than the rest? Sorry if this is asking too much of you to respond. Thanks in advance.

@@betmowinmo1292how fast you are on the buzzer always plays a factor but a big part for these type of games is how much you practice trivia before the game, alot of players have prep coaches or a partner to practice with

@@betmowinmo1292and with regards to this episode Amy was getting behind so she knew she needed to get aleast one point so she was desperate enough to start guessing when normally she wouldve not answered if she wasn't sure but it didn't work in her favor

Not so fun fact: This is the first time since game 6 of the 2024 Tournament of Champions quarterfinals when the top seed player was in the red before Final Jeopardy. 8 game champion Stephen Webb was in the red before Final Jeopardy when he faced 3 day champion Brian Henegar and Champions Wildcard winner Josh Saak, also a 3 day champion.

Stephen, I’m so sorry. You had to keep swinging in that round, because you were flirting with negative amounts, and it didn’t work out for you, but thank you so much for coming back for the Tournament of Champions. Happy to see you again.

Wow! He insulted Yogesh calling him foolhardy.
@dafish6870
@dafish6870 Ай бұрын
No he didn't. It did not matter what Yogesh bet since Victoria had more than double what he did. The only foolhardy bet that was possible would be if she made a large enough bet that might have allowed Yogesh to win and that is what Ken was referring to.

@@mizzyroro , why doesn't it make sense? The match was already over before Final Jeopardy because Victoria had more than double what Yogesh did so if she bet nothing it was not possible for him to catch her. The only foolhardy bet possible was if she made a large bet which would make it possible for him to catch her. Ken was not referring to Yogesh at all when he used the word "foolhardy".

Amy has consistently proven she’s worthy of being in tournaments like this - it’s not “giving her chances” if she’s earned those chances. I see no reason why how successful she’s been with those chances should matter if she earns them fair and square. Plus, she’s literally already beaten two of the five other contestants in this tournament, so if you speak this disparagingly about Amy, I’d hate to hear what you have to say about Matt and Mattea…
