I listen to this when I walk my dog in the forest, I realized I was really feeling this and the lyrics hit me.. Homelessness at home.. Benzo timeline.. Passing me by and hallelujah.. Its so powerful. I'm happier when you're gone!!!

I've been listening to this one on repeat, I think I fell in love with this song

When I was 13/14 I had a boy on facebook who had the 'An Awesome Wave' album cover as his cover photo and I never knew what it was but thought it was really cool and it intrigued me. Shortly after, the summer of 2013, I was in HMV and saw the image from the boys cover photo. It was on a 2 for 10 pound stand. I bought it along with the Palma Violets debut album. I listened to them albums all summer and they still sit on the top tier of my music taste/influences, they set the groundworks for me. That was a very vibrant time in music, like a little explosion happened. I bought NME every week and worked as a paperboy 7 days a week. Swim deep, tame impala, alt j, palma violets, peace, foals, haim, sundarma karma, wolf alice etc. Some of the bands pushed it further and have only got bigger through the years but they all came from this little pocket of time. After the summer of 2013 I saw my first gig in the September, September 22nd on a Sunday to be precise because I had school the next day. The gig was Swim Deep headlining and Wolf alice and sundarma karma supporting. Cardiff the globe. Me and my father went, I was 15. The next morning I walked into school slightly late and my teacher said where have you been and I felt all cool and mature saying I had been to a gig the night before. I love life

I had this friend that made me feel miserable every time we would chat on the phone. I felt like he was a better version of me that I could never follow or be at the same page, he was the type of guy who loved to talk about his life but never to listen about other people's. This song reminds me of these situations I had while being his friend.

A lot of people don’t like The Dream because it’s not An Awesome Wave. It makes no sense. Obviously a band that lasts a decade changes their sound over time.

But so glad I did eventually find you. You don't get the recognition you deserve here in the US... Only one friend of mine was familiar with your music.
