well i'm still sick as expected so here's a fun story from when me and my family went to universal before i got sick so a few days previous to the story i had found an amazing bela lugosi dracula shirt at a shop entirely dedicated to the universal monsters in the shopping area, but it was the end of the day and there were only like 4 xxl's and 2 l's still in stock, so i had resolved that when we went back to the shopping area a few days later i'd try again that day comes and it's me, my older sibling, and our stepbrother in a group while my stepdad and mom went w our little brother (dw we had airtags and our phones were fully charged) ANYWAYS we get to the shop we went to last time that i first saw it in, and i go to look at the FULL RACK and it's literally all larges, xl's, and 2xl's, which get it i'm glad they were catering to larger sizes but that is VERY MUCH NOT MY SIZE 😭 so i ask the guy at the counter if they had any in medium in the back and he said they didn't, but he'd call the shop at the end of the mummy ride and ask if they had it in a medium, granted this is my second time in the shopping area so i have no fucking clue where that is. so he's on the phone for a good bit, and once he gets off he goes "so do you want good news or awesome news", he then explains that the mummy ride shop did have it in a medium, and they were already holding it for me at the counter, so i ask where the shop even is and he mumbles out the directions and all i catch is "new york" so i am vv confused naturally. so we get to the new york portion of the universal shopping district or whtever and i have no fucken clue where we are, so i get out my phone and pull up a map which only helped maybe slightly bc it was pretty low quality and maybe a little outdated and, yk, i had no fucken clue where we are. so since i am pretty navigationally challenged this is entirely harder than it needs to be, and all the while my sibling is rushing us to get to the bumblebee meet n greet thing (WHICH WAS IN LIKE AN HOUR BTW) bc they're vv hyperfixated, so now i'm stressing which is making me take even longer to make heads and tails of where the fuck we were. yeah long story short it took me 15 mins to figure out that we were 2 mins away actually bc i saw a sign for a restaurant that was right across from the shop. so we haul ass to get in there and that place was so fucken cool, and during this whole quest me and my stepbrother were getting rlly fucken hyped for the mummy ride bc we're universal monsters bitches. so anyways i went to the front counter and asked the lady about the shirt and she went "ohh yes here you go! i was just about to get off my shift and tell the guy taking over to guard this shirt with his life until the person came and asked for it :D" and my sibling was still rushing us for the bumblebee thing (WHICH WAS STILL IN A LITTLE LESS THAN AN HOUR) so they were like "OKAY YOU HAVE YOUR SHIRT LET'S GO", so i'm trying to shove my wallet back in my very full bag while we're starting to get tf out of there and the lady goes "nononooo, here set your bag down on the counter let me help you get it closed! i'm a mom, i got that mom instinct ´:)" Y'ALL WHEN I TELL YOU I WOULD DIE FOR THIS WOMAN. so while she was helping me we asked abt the mummy ride and she very nervously said "ohhh,,, it's closed till september :(" and when she told us that we both kinda went "oh darn :( well thank you anyways :]" and she was like surprised??? she went "wow, you handled that really well!" like ??? why wouldn't people take it well??? it's a ride there's literally so many more to go on. ANYWAYS so we get my wallet shoved back into my very full bag and i profusely thank her and we hightail it out of there,, even tho we still had like 30 mins to get to the thing that was like a not-even 10 min walk away 💀 so there's the bullshit we had to go through to get that shirt, but it turned out it was glow in the dark so it was entirely worth it ✌️
