May all who have been broken never feel the same suffering more than once. It hurts, but remember that all things must come to the end. At the end of winter must come spring, and the thunderstorms will never last forever. Hang in there, my comrades. Let the whispering winds guide you to happiness.

The willow it weeps today A breeze from the distance is calling your name Unfurl your black wings and wait Across the horizon it's coming to sweep you away It's coming to sweep you away Let the wind carry you home Blackbird fly away May you never be broken again The fragile cannot endure The wrecked and the jaded a place so impure The static of this cruel world Cause some birds to fly long before they've seen their day Long before they've seen their day Let the wind carry you home Blackbird fly away May you never be broken again Beyond the suffering you've known I hope you find your way May you never be broken again Ascend may you find no resistance Know that you made such a difference All you leave behind will live to the end The cycle of suffering goes on But memories of you stay strong Someday I too will fly and find you again Let the wind carry you home Blackbird fly away May you never be broken again Beyond the suffering you've known I hope you find your way May you never be broken again May you never be broken again

This song is the epitome of power, grace and depth possible with a 4 piece rock band. Possibly the greatest song ever written. Also the strength of playing by Flip and Brian are top shelf here and hold this hold crazy emotional rollercoaster together. Cheers to the rhythm section! They don't get enough credit and they're half of Alter Bridge.

A friend recommended I listen to this and I usually don't listen to hard rock. This was beyond words amazing. It wasn't just the lyrics being amazing, which they are, but the actual music made me feel. I've listened to a lot of songs to help me grieve and when it hurts the most I actually feel a pressure in my gut but no song has matched the feeling before like this one. I generally associate hard rock with a lot of energy and grieving as being passive but that just made me realize that aching pressure I feel is the energy. But slower more mellow songs aren't able to release it the way this would. Honestly I've grieved so hard I scream before but the music in this does the screaming for the soul. That's like the best way I can describe it. And at the end the way it winds down reminded me of when I was little and I'd be done crying and my Mom would just hold me. It was slower and deeper and soothing. Dude that was an experience. Not just a song. I am thoroughly and genuinely impressed. Like whoa! I am training to be a recreational therapist and want to do music therapy so I wanted to broaden my tastes. Thank you to the band. This is amazing.

I dedicate this song to my recently deceased older brother: this was his favorite bamd and his favorite song to play on his guitar. Each time I listen to this song i think about him. And the lyrics in the song that go: "the cycle of suffering goes on. But memories of u stay strong. Someday I too will fly and find you again" hit home to me

I was in my 20’s when this came out. How have I never heard this song? I thought the heavy metal sound of the 80’s and 90’s left quietly. I had no idea there was such a capstone. 🤯 A perfect encapsulation of the genre before Breaking Benjamin moved the sound into the new era. Beautiful.

"You can conquer the world, but people will forget. You can change the world, but people will forget. You can save the world, but people will forget. You can destroy the world, but people will forget. You can help people live or die, but the world, the world will never forget. For every step you take in it, you will leave a mark. For every seed you plant, you will leave a mark. For every brick you place, you will leave a mark. For every soul you help, you will leave a mark. For every life you take, you will leave a mark. For every life you save, you will leave a mark." "You might be forgotten by mortals, but never by immortals. For their lives are endless and so are their memories. For the earth is alive. Breathing. Feeling. Growing. It remembers everything and everyone, Including you no matter how big or small you think you are, no matter how big or small people think you are. At the end of the day, the more marks you leave, the more the world will remember. So keep fighting no matter how hard the battles are because you are leaving a mark." ~Anonymous~ I think I can speak for the person who wrote it... "I don't want you to like it I just want you to know it."
