I will point out that these specialty project based schools also typically have smaller classes which has a huge impact on learning in general. When I have a class of 30 vs 13 makes a massive difference in how well I can individualize instruction and focus my attention.

Every child's learning is different. Project base doesn't help all students when they do not have the foundational skills and development. Each student has a unique learning style. Some are visual learners, others learn by just hearing it they are auditory learners, some learn better when they are reading and writing the material, and some hands on kinestistic learners. There is not a one size fits all approach to learning. Teachers are impacted by societal norms, performing to teaching to the test, overwhelmed with lack of funding and resources, the list goes on. The overcrowded classrooms, neighborhood schools closing left and right. When individuals realize that education is a Social Justice issue maybe improvements will come. Politicians are telling teachers how to do there jobs, others who have never taught a day in their life are telling teachers how to do their jobs. The amount of pressure on teacher from societal issues is a major problem in teachers and their mental health. Teachers should employ a number of teaching strategies and approaches and parental involvement should be included as in the years past. The list goes on. This will be a complete dialogue and book.

Every child in America should receive free school lunch. Federally funded healthy food. No child should go hungry in America.
