My father used to sing a lovely, lively version of this to us. . . and my mother, for reasons which we kids did not understand, somehow disapproved. . . thanks very much for the memories!

@Westtoledoguy Ha ha, it sure does. I didn't think about that before. Lazy Larry was actually Frank Marvin though. He recorded the Bum Song in 1928. I've got a version by Vernon Dalhart that's pretty neat. Thanks Carl!

Neat. I'm more familiar with the Benny Bell version ("Jack of All Trades") but I've heard that Larry Vincent originated the song so it's interesting to hear this version and it's got some good verses. (I kind of think Benny Bell's version is a bit more effective, though.)

sounds like Lazy Larry who sang the Bum Song in the late 20s early 30s
