Altrusian Grace Media Presents: Sir Gawain and the Green Knight audio book, a late 14th-century Middle English Arthurian chivalric romance. The author is unknown; the title was given centuries later. It is one of the best-known Arthurian stories, with its plot combining two types of folk motifs, the beheading game and the exchange of winnings. Written in stanzas of alliterative verse, each of which ends in a rhyming bob and wheel, it draws on Welsh, Irish and English stories, as well as the French chivalric tradition. It is an important example of a chivalric romance, which typically involves a hero who goes on a quest which tests his prowess.

This is Jesse Weston's translation and you have made an incredibly haunting Audiobook. The translation is better than Tolkien's, who put too much effort into making it sound like plain language and missed much of the poetry. (Certainly It would be fair if you listed the translator's name if not n the credits then in the description).

1:40:57 Sir Gowen was spared because he was a real honourable man and didn’t fuck his hosts wife like a true bro😎🤙 but still felt bad for excepting a gift from her. Classic story but doughy that the recent movie adaptation is as faithful. But I’d like to watch it.

The movie isn't exactly the same, but I thought it was utterly fantastic - the esoteric symbolism and archetypal roles of the characters were perfectly conveyed. Deep lessons on being authentic and becoming individuated, and some heavy Jungian stuff going on.
