Does the receiver hold a capacitor that adjusts the speeds? I’ve recently read that the capacitors can go bad causing it to slow down

@@papajoeknows8355 so I received a new receiver and all works great. The capacitors are in the receiver and can not be replaced, you have to replace the entire receiver. Luckily I was still under warranty as these run about $75 (+) to replace. Thank you for your help.

I have the same fan, although it also has a light kit on it. My fan works well with the remote, but it also acts like it has a ghost in it. The fan and/or light continuously goes on and off by itself. I’ve had an electrician come and look at it. One particular note is that my fan/light works from 3 different switches on the wall. One switch is on the wall as you enter my living room from the kitchen. One switch is on a wall as you enter my living room from the dining room. And one switch is on a wall as you enter my living room from the hallway. The electrician pointed out that since I’m using a (3-way) setup, but actually using 3 wall switches, that two switches need to be 3-way switches. The third switch needs to be a 4-way switch. All three of mine were 3-way switches. He replaced one of them with a 4-way switch. That solved my problems for a while. However, about a month ago, we had a storm occur and now my ghost is back. I have replaced the receiver with two more receivers and the ghost is still there. Remote still works, so I can turn the fan or light off if they come on and vice-versa. Any thoughts?

I wouldn’t even want venture a guess on that one. You’ve got a lot going on there, ghosts included lol. I’d get the electrician back out there, and if he can’t figure it out, I’d get another one.

Any idea what to fix if the fans runs slower on high the medium speed? High used to blow like crazy , now as slow or slower the medium

Funny, I’ve got 3 of the same fans on my back office, and one of them does the exact same thing. My guess is that it’s something wrong with the receiver.

thanks joe, i will make sure to never buy a fan with a remote. enough remotes with video stuff who needs another remote for a fan. never heard of a remote for a fan, wow, amost silly, or who knows. thanks for the tester info though, gonna get one of those, very cool, did not even know about those.

Yes, remotes / receivers, most fans have them now, but just like cars, the more contraptions, the more that can go wrong.

I have two of these fans, and two remotes. Both remotes work with either or both fans. My problem is that one fan runs at the slow speed, regardless of which speed I choose (on either remote, so I know it's not the remote). Any thoughts on resolving this issue on the one fan?

Assuming the switch on the wall is not set on the lowest speed, I’m guessing the receiver on that fan isn’t functioning properly, so you may want to replace it.

Did anyone ever really figure out why so many of these fans run so slow? We didn't really get to use ours. My husband got sick and it sat unused for years it is a bummer. Beautiful but a bummer.

I originally wondered about that, but the fan blades are curved so there’s more surface area. I’ve found that because of that, they are able to move more air, even at the slower speeds. A bonus to that I would guess, is that the motors should last longer.

You need a new receiver
