I hear what you are both saying about Morata, maybe he will be a better fit under Fonseca’s system but I know that once Leao and Chuckweze are on a break we need a striker who can trail in for a goal. Morata misses too many big chances in big games and it is consistent. The unseen stats are the ones that I worry about with him. He is a good price, excellent I would say fundamentally, but very poor at converting specifically in 1v1s and clear goal opportunities. If he did that consistently he would be top 5 strikers in the world right now. To both of your points - okay so we get a good striker in Morata, now the expectation is for the money to be put into a quality CB that we need the most as well as a quality Holding Midfielder or quasi box to box/holding Midfielder/Defensive Midfielder and I think more emphasis on defensive since Fonseca plays in a system that requires the CDM to drop into a CB position at sometimes to create freedom for the fullbacks. The question becomes, what happens if they don’t spend the money and use the same strategy they are utilizing with Morata in the striker position in the CB and CM/CDM position. The glaring issue is Milan’s inability to close deals. We get everything set up prep the media and the fans with rumors and then it falls through. I have no expectations that Fofana will come to Milan because we take so long to negotiate that someone else comes in and swoops it up like yesterdays dinner. I also have no expectations that we will sign a quality CB and instead go for a CB that is young and has the possibility of being great in the next 3-5 years. How have Juventus beat us to signing Thuram? That should have been a done deal for Milan. From the day the market opened he should have been signed and getting ready for medicals? The part that really pisses me off is that there is so much bloody talent that we miss on. An easyyyyy easyyyyy example is Udogie. We need a replacement for Kessie. Udogie is Italian and was relatively not well known until he went to Tottenham. Milan should have pounced on him as soon as we sold Kessie. There are quality players out there that fit the bill and are good investments yet we will choose to go for a loan with no clause on purchase. We developed Brahim for Madrid. Now they want Arda Guler on a loan with no intent to purchase? Come on!

I think they want to complete the team this year so next year they have the whole budget for a top striker and Morata will be his backup

I don't have a problem with Morata per se, but with the management. When chasing a striker like Zirkzee and possible ending up with Morata, two players so different, it says a lot why we got Fonseca and not a more established coach, because apparently he does have no say in what players the club brings, sort of a 'yes man'. Once again, 'gel boy' shows he's at Milan just for money, because to my understanding if last summer they had to fix a lot of gaps in our squad, this summer was suppose to invest in quality and for me Morata is not, not to mention the other names we're link up with.
