I think the problem is that even if you like/handle extremely spicy food well, you have to adjust its spice level to the culture that you’re cooking for. If she were cooking in a Thai restaurant then she could probably add even more spice, but because this is MS Canada, it just doesn’t sell well.

Alvin getting enraged is nothing compared to how Joe was in the earlier seasons of MasterChef US. Alvin is either going to get upset like he did with Danny in S1 or give you constructive criticism. It’s clear that season 1 was trying to be an exact carbon copy of the us version, like if you swapped the judges to be Gordon and the crew, this would be any normal us season, so I’m glad that season 2 found it’s own personality and format

34:00 you can just say "I do not understand what the temperature guidelines on food mean", that's much more descriptive. Every single bacteria in it died instantly the second it crossed that threshold.

It’s not about safety, it’s about how they wanted it cooked. It shouldn’t be cooked rare.

1. Kilbert you don't understand temp guidelines yourself 2. It has nothing to do with the fact that that steak was not medium-rare like he claimed
