It is my birth place. Every year, I make a visit to this village for Darshan of Perumal and the Shiva temple on the other side of the bank of Tamirabharani. I vividly remember going to veg market near the railway station handholding my grandpa, spending some time during dusk in the river bed, rushing to railway station when coal engine made screaming sound, navatirupati garuda during Vaikasi festival, etc. Later during recent times, , it became famous for coffee, 'milk kova', et al. This year when I went there in Feb, 2020, I found the coffee shop was not functional but 'milk kova' was still being sold. But, over the years, the agrahArams have vanished. Big mansion like buildings still stand a testimony to say 'there was a very active life happening around the Temple for Athinathar and Nammazhvar were their heroes. Thanks for this post that kindled me to travel on the history lane.

Arumaiyana oru and koil. Very friendly people. I went from Chennai so people over there helped me. One Anna even got me tea in tea shop. Different experience with so friendly people.

Well taken video. Inspiring lifestyles. Wish the names of the such senior acharyas/devotees were written properly with Thiru or an honorific title instead of e.g Sadagopan etc.

In this place no respect for males especially husbands, very tough people but they speak good Tamil accent. Beware of intercast brahmins, they pretend like brahmins.
