I found your series two weeks ago and I’ve been binging them! I’ve playing the piano for 4 years and my goal is to be a jazz pianist. Just wanna say that I really appreciate this series and the insights and tips you give. They’re really helpful, and I love how you always remind us that we can always play it in our styles or how we want to do it-as a beginner, I tend to follow/copy the style of the pianist playing a certain tune, so I try my best to discover new styles and play it the way I want. Thank you for sharing these videos! You never fail to amaze me!

Fantastic take! I loved how you did the time conversion -- really not sure why it's in 4/4 in the real book. Anyways, keep doing what you're doing!

Thanks John! I'm not sure why it's like that in the Real Book either. I've also seen a leadsheet for the waltz "Tenderly" in 4/4 time. A mystery!

Right now I'm focusing on tunes from The Real Book, vol. 1, but The Peacocks is a great tune! Have you heard Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock play it?

I agree, it's such a beautiful song, Raymond. I think less jazz musicians know this song than many others, so it's not searched for as much and a tune like Autumn Leaves.
