On primate evolutionary biology, I think the "aquatic ape" theory best explains humans. Somewhere back along the line we descended from apes that lived on the coast and would wade in the shallows for fish/crabs etc as food. The evidence for that is that we lost our fur but gained subcutaneous fat - fat under the skin on top of muscles. This is a very efficient way of keeping warm. We're the only primate to have fat like that, but seals, dolphins and whales all do. It also explains why we stand so straight and have bigger flatter feet than other primates (for wading and swimming) and why human babies swim instinctually. ...that's a longer post than I meant to to type, I just find that suff interesting. Anyway, I enjoyed the video 😊
@minty73003 ай бұрын
oooooooh that is really interesting! honestly why we dont have like fur is something ive been curious about but this seems like a decently viable explanation!

Zoology ASMR is amazing and super relaxing. You go from slaying the subathon to coming right back to YT and slay here as well. I don't need to tell you to keep killing it; you're already an assassin. 💚

I think i found my new favorite thing, its someone doing ASMR while simultaneously justifying ASMR with science so i dont feel silly listening to ASMR to sleep. You have successfully created a hyper specific niche i enjoy that only you are able to fill. Thats just clever content creation right there.

Your hand movements when you speak remind me a lot of early Gibi like years back. In a good way. I always felt like her hand movement and facial expressions did so much more for ASMR than the actual sounds.

It's a controversial theory but some evolutionary biologists believe that the evolutionary ancestors of humans were semi aquatic (kind of like hippos) and the lack of hair was an adaptation to improve our ability to swim without fur dragging us down
