Yeah! Like its not like she'd have the answers on that. They were asking the wrong person and making her uncomfortable. I felt bad too.

lillie rappleye Yeah that was a real dick move by the interview. And then the interviewer just acted like it never happened XD Alycia did a pretty good job trying to avoid the question and moving on with the interview

She's a pleasure to watch, so cute, sweet and sincere; not to mention very smart too. Oh Alycia. I asked myself this everytime: How can this sweet girl actually be the Commander Lexa? Oh Heda.

Im not liking that sneaky racial question at alysia. She is too adorable and just cute. Shes just like a adorably dorky person and just soo sweet. Great actress. Cant wait for the 100 to return and the comander ;)

it's her job to ask those questions as an interviewer I agree that she's not the right person to answer a question like that but it's a good question no matter who it's directed at

Sneaky host sneaking a race question at an unrelated actor
@baem.5868

The race question was a really good question, but it was directed at the wrong person. It should be directed at Rob Kirkman, not any of the actors. They don't make decisions about the story line or casting.

+Bae M. This is getting absolutely ridiculous. Race this race that! Maybe white people should boycott Tyler Perry since he only has black actors in his movies, that's racist! Just fucking leave it alone already!
@winterhug4331

Viking Thor- I don't know why you are getting upset with others. The reporter is the one who brought up race to Alycia. Get mad at the reporter, not us commenting about it. As for Tyler Perry, you can boycott his movies all you want. it does not bother me.

+Viking Thor, he casts white people too.
@shirmeldanielle2161

+Viking Thor Firstly he casts primarily black people, but then again most of his movies were set in specific neighbourhoods that are predominantly black and his stories also centered around Madea's family. However there are other ethnicities present in a lot of his other movies that he has been developing. Additionally, one black man versus a billion white owned studios ... people like Tyler Perry exist BECAUSE in A LOT of cases it would be the only way the majority of black actors have roles that are consistent. I mean its way better for black people than hispanic and asians and it is getting better but the disproportional division of roles available versus populations demographics is still quite staggering . I get that sometimes it can be annoying always having people cry racism/racial prejudice, and I swear I get annoyed by it sometimes as well, but the fact is if people leave it alone already, then change wouldn't happen. Let me give you an example, The 100, which I love, currently has Pike, Jaha the two main black male leads, one is tyrannical in his revenge and one has lost the plot. Have they intentionally done this, I highly doubt it. Did it register to them that this was the case, again probably not. But when you're watching TV you do subconsciously look for you represented in the shows you watch. So as a black person I am more aware of what is happening to the black characters as a group than I am of the white or asian or hispanic characters as a group. So it also easier to pick up on patterns. Additionally, you can argue, that there are also poor portrayals of white people and def in this show this is true, but if you only have four named black characters and two or three are villains, it makes the one good seem like the exception. versus having three or four white villains but then you have seven or eight good ones ... then the bad ones seem like the exception.

idk what the interviewer expected Alycia to say on that race question like either trash your show and the writers by saying theres a race problem, making your employers look bad or disagree and then be dragged by fans... wrong person to ask

I feel so sorry that Alycia had to get such a huge bomb dropped on her "the race question" because she's so new too all of this there is no way she could answer that question! This is a question for the directors really. As a fan like most fans I've followed TWD for many years so I obviously know the history of racial problems with TWD. But Alycia literally just got into all of this and just bingle watched the show not long ago. So you cannot possibly expect her to know about this!

She had absolutely no idea how to deal with the race question. I felt a bit bad watching it, she can't say anything against her employers and she wasn't part of the casting process, but these questions are important need to be asked somewhere and she was there representing the show, in a way, so I'm conflicted whether I think it should've been asked or not.

The interviewer was wrong for asking her that, because a question like that shouldn't be asked to the actors but to the writers and showrunner - the people who actually create the story and make the creative decisions
