Good evening Vanessa it’s only me again - I hope you’ve had a good week and that you’ve been keeping well - I have the hospice team coming in next Thursday to talk about medication. As at the moment. Nothing seems to be working anyway. I’m trying to stay positive as I can be- but as usual my Friday nights are the highlight of the week as I look forward to your Vlog/video - I hope you have a lovely weekend - sending loads of love and loads of hugs as always ~ Xxx Xxx

Oh my dear, I hope they can work out a medication regimen that works for you. I’m in the USA so not sure if our hospice works differently than yours but as a nurse I know that you have to demand what you need ! Pain is best relieved by alternating 2-3 different medications so you are taking something every 2 hours, otherwise you get behind and it takes time for medication to start working, you should always have overlapping doses on board. And also remember, and your healthcare team should know this too, that while taking these doses you will have to steadily increase dosing because you will acquire a tolerance! God be with you and hugs from a caring nurse ❤

When you live in the city like I do, you forget how utterly beautiful England actually is. I had a friend from America stay years ago and she said it looked like the picture on a chocolate box. She couldn't believe how lush and pretty it was.

Whenever I feel the need to isolate from the daily grind of the news cycles. I can open my copy of the “The Nature Journal of a Narrowboater” (In between videos) and slip away from the “Weirdness” that is our current world. Relating to the natural world around me opens a door to an inner peace that is grounding. Thank you for another great video.

The older couple were an absolute bundle of joy and laughter nice to see such a vast amount of fresh mushrooms. Most people love this lifestyle as boat buying went through the roof. Hmm I see this time treacle tart 2 peace’s and no biscuits. 😂😂😂

When you were spelling out the "B A L L", I noticed that Zephyr cocked her head to one side, as it to say: "I know what you're trying not to say." I found that moment quite amusing. Thank goodness you both got into the narrowboat before that thunderstorm eventually broke - that rain really did hammer it down. Also, thank you for revisiting that small garden, a beautiful place to sit and relax, and just be with nature. I really love to wait for the end of the video to see the sketch of what you have seen in the past week along your journey - Thank you! 🙂

My wife and I used to use the phonetic alphabet in the car when profanity was appropriate, the upshot was our four year old learnt the phonetic alphabet :D Fortunately it didn't appear to hamper his development of vocabulary. He's a bit of a freak though, he learnt to say Mohorovicic Discontinuity at three when I was teaching him about the Earth, "because it sounded funny".

It must be your artists eye but you have an amazing ability to pick out the little things- a flower, an insect or a far away bird which most of us would just walk past without noticing, and then weave it into an enchanting story. You have a fascinating and relaxing vlog.

I suppose people who live in cities might think you're isolated, but I think it's just the opposite. You get to experience the rich and varied beauty of nature, and they don't. The city folk I think are the ones isolated. You get to meet and greet people often enough, and yet still have the peace of solitude as you journey along. It's like taking a vacation, but you get to take your home along with you, which is like the best of both worlds for someone who's an adventurer. I like how you take the time to tell the story of, or at least describe the various buildings and locations as you see them. It's like a living journal in motion. Another beautiful video!

This life appeals to me so much. I'm an introvert, an artist, I care about wildlife, I love boats and water and I adore dogs. I know it won't appeal to everyone but to me it looks like stepping into a magical parallel universe. I know it's not as easy as it looks, life never is, but the effort looks worth it to me. The only thing that stops me doing it is that I tend to get homesick quite quickly. I don't know whether you eventually get past that stage or whether it gets worse.

Zephyr really knows what she wants! It's not weird at all that you feel connected to plants, insects, birds and animals around you. The cute little snail, the Scorpion fly and the Mayfly Spinner are beautiful and the sparrows are so often overlooked. I am enjoying your narrow boating life, for the nature, loving the birds , history and your manoeuvring of the locks it’s wonderful. Are you on there with your husband as you say we? Then isolated. The mushroom stand in the Market was absolutely beautiful! What a great variety of mushrooms! I love to cook so that would have been great fun. So green everywhere you look, just wonderful. Zephyr is a great dog indeed, what a great travel buddy. Oh, I've seen those lap wings here on the outskirts of Madrid in winter on the farmers fields. The area I reside in is all pine trees, and oaks, and some Birchwood. Nice to be away from the city, although once in a while I like visiting "the retiro" with the large gardens, which is in Madrid. Enjoyed yet another fantastic blog! Thx so much 😊 oh, those words in your poems, and drawings are ❤

Great vlog as per usual that lock number five was really interesting how it changed through the season, I've only been through Bosley once in 1998 with a Dawncraft we left our fenders down and got stuck in the lock ( we thought about anti fouling it while it was there.lol) , Glad Zepher got her ball her face was a picture, The biscuit challenge " Treacle Tart " my wife went for two and claimed the victory, love all the bird photos as usual but I'm trumping you this week as we are going to see the Eagles at the Co op venue in manchester tomorrow night, Have a great week and stay safe. 😀

Hello again! One thing I don't recall mentioning to you before, is how much I appreciate the way you match up the music you use with the scenery. Particularly liked the dramatic music right before you said "That very dramatic sky!" Loved the local lore you shared, about the "Treacle Market". At one point you had a real convoy of narrowboats. I don't think I've ever seen so many in motion at one time before. All in all, another excellent episode. Thanks again, and best wishes! As always!

We don't have stained glass in Canada, not like you guys do! Having seen the Mayfly Spinner and that beautiful Scorpion Fly I can now understand what inspired Norman artists to break big expanses of glass in to small bits and then reconstruct them into beautiful Works of Art. I find the water-colourists of England to be at complete odds with the Norman and Cathedral glass artists, in that the water-colourists actually HOPE that the colours will run together and create that wonderful hue in the crested-tit's wing tip.

Hi Vanessa, What an amazing market, those mushrooms look gorgeous and so reasonably priced, I had no idea there were so many different varieties in England. It was buzzing there, it was a real treat to see such a vibrant market, so many are in decline and shutting down. I could see your little owl, I used to see them regularly when I lived in a cottage in the country. Your plants are thriving it must be all the rain! I’ve seen a few lapwings this year, they seem to be making a bit of a come back, they used to be a common feature in the fields but not so much now. I hope your engine is going to be ok.🤞🏻Fabulous art as usual, good job you managed to avoid getting wet in the downpour. Take care all of you. xxxx

Thanks for another wonderful vlog. Zephyr is so beautiful too. My dog wasn't as easy when I had a narrow boat. She was a rescue from Spain & would not have left that cat alone if off the lead as she's a Podenco which are unfortunately used for hunting smaller animals. So affectionate to humans & other dogs though.

Well Vanessa, you’ve done it again. How do you manage to make such high quality vlogs week after week? Christine’s flower boat was amazing. Looks like the plants do indeed enjoy the slow paced narrowboat lifestyle. Loved the mushroom stall. That couple are my age so I am doubly impressed. And then there is the scene stealer, Zeph the B-A-L-L dog. She held out and you gave in! Reminds so much of raising our kids when they were that age. I’m working through your earlier vlogs from the beginning. When I get caught up to the present I may just go back and start over again! Thank you so much for the gift you give us.
