It’s so crazy that out of all the mares, Crystal is the one who got pregnant! She’s your first horse and I feel like equestrians most always have a deeper love/bond with their first horses. Your first baby is having her first baby! It was meant to be :)

My horse died 2 years ago and let me tell you I miss him so much and I wasnt expecting when my parents called me to tell me he passed by. The day before I asked them to go see him they said no I knew something was wrong but I stayed possetive the next they called me to their room when my mother said :"he died" I froze I didnt know what to do I tried not to cry but I coudnt I broke down and I still do but no one understand how I feel.I M miss Him❤😥😭😭😭😢😢😢

I cried at that part i hate when animals die and i cant stop crying my dog died 5 years ago and just thinking about it makes me cry and mostly that it wasn't natural he was 2 so he had many years to live (i cried writing this)

I love short horses I just feel like this one short horse named Cote he is actually a chinoteague pony and he is so sweet and has a very smooth canter and gallop but it is very very fast and his trot is soooo fast too but I love him so much and his owner which is my instructor just bought a new colt named Boomer and he is so cute!

Depending on genetics it could be bay, seal, buckskin, black, or smokey black :] I really hope it's a dark buckskin

Eight Jane There is also a small possibility of it being a red based foal on the slim chance that both parents are Ee, and by the chance that they both passed on a recessive gene. But that is very slim. Since we do not know their genetics, there is a chance for a palomino or sorrel baby too, but extremely slim.

@@elg1400 I'm aware. Based on how dark crystal is I'm guessing she is EE Aa at the very least. I know not all dark brown horses are EE but the majority seem to be. Would be really cool if tbeh did produce a red foal

And also, for weaning, you don’t have to the “take baby far, far away from mom” weaning.. you can start by just putting them in separate stalls for a few hours/overnight, then gradually increase the time apart.

I really respect your views on breeding and starting young horses. A lot of people would disagree with you, and I think it's important that someone with your reach is honest and open without being judgmental. It is very refreshing. Not gonna lie I never weaned my foal. I spent a lot of time with him, he naturally wanted to leave his mom to hang out with me. They have never spent a night apart (living in the field together). He is 3 in March and they turned out just fine, not over attached but are each other’s best friends in the herd. I think it’s adorable that they still have that mother/foal bond. Can’t wait to see the little baby either!

I'm very interested in the weaning part. I know it's at t least 6 months from now, but I saw one person on KZfaq (Clair eventing I think) who did it in a nice way. She would just took the foal for a little walk without mom for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45, then an hour. And just let them both get used to not being together every moment of every day. Looked like a very healthy and natural way to do it. (I mean some people just take the foal/mom one day and they won't see each other for a year. That just sounds so wrong and harsh)
