Ello, I'll drop some tips + facts here for you and others (although some of these you might already know by now) - When a survivor pings "Cipher Prime" or "I'm Out of Here" early on in the match, it means Blink is up. You can tell using the surrender countdown. At the start of the match, Blink has a 60 second cooldown, and the surrender countdown has a 240 second cooldown. Once the surrender timer hits 180 seconds, blink is up for the hunter. - You can guess what persona a hunter is using based off the typical persona that specific hunter uses and observing their behaviour, as hunters, like survivors, can only select 2 end talents. If the 1st presence bell sounds before the hunter gets 2 hits, they have insolence. (In this case, if the hunter is Smiley or Polun, there is a decent to high chance that they do not bring detention). If the hunter carries blink or anything other than teleport, there is a high chance that they brought trump card (unless they are a high mobility hunter and/or the map is small). In contrast, if the hunter brings teleport, there is a high chance they do not have trump card. Hunters with block windows is self explanatory. However, if the hunter has fast pallet breaking but does NOT have window block, they probably carry two other end talents, but at the expense of other, smaller (but nevertheless useful) talents. If the hunter has fast pallet breaking and wanted order, beserker (you can tell if the hunter has fast attack recovery when a survivor is on chair), and/or rage (you can tell if the hunter's stun recovery time is shorter than usual, but be careful not to mix it up with desperate fight, which grants a shorter stun recovery the more times the hunter is stunned in quick succession), there is a high chance the hunter only brought one end talent. Detention is self-explanatory. You can also make an educated guess at the start of the match by which hunter you are up against. Whilst the majority of hunters bring detention + trump/confined space, some are more likely to bring insolence or not bring detention. Insolence hunters are normally presence hungry with a bad early game. These include Smiley, Hell Ember, Wu Chang and on occasion Breaking Wheel. No detention hunters tend to not rely on it for one reason or another. No detention hunters include Breaking Wheel, Smiley and on occasion Joseph. - If a Prisoner pings "Help Me" whilst decoding and has a connection set up, there is a high chance he wants the person on the other end of the connection to transmit to him instead. You can double check by stepping off the cipher and see if it still shakes, and if it doesn't, it means you are safe to transmit. If a survivor mid-kite, about to rescue, or is in general in a dangerous position where it is difficult to physically heal them for example, they might ping "Help Me". Usually this is directed towards any supports with global skills (e.g. Priestess, Psycho, Cheerleader, Seer), and means the survivor wants their assistance (Priestess portal, seer owl, cheerleader stacks or cooldown reduction, psycho whistle). - If a Priestess, Forward, Batter and/or any other survivor capable of harassing or supporting up close pings "follow me" they want you to either follow them (in the case of Priestess, meaning she has or will set up portals for you) or to kite towards them (usually in the case of harrassers). In this case it is safe to kite towards them as they are willing to help. - If you are playing Little Girl and a survivor pings "follow me" whilst you are kiting (especially if they are near you and especially if they are running close to you), this means they are giving you permission to leech onto them, so don't be afraid to if you feel you need it. - (This is more a personal gripe but) If there is an Embalmer on the team, make sure to ping if the hunter is near you and/or if they switch targets (he also might ping "help me" in this case as well). This is so he can coffin the right person. - If you are playing Patient and there is a Psycho on the team (or vice versa) and you are kiting, if the other one pings "Follow me", (and especially if they are running around near you) it means they are giving you permission to dash towards them. -Characters that cannot drink Barmaid's dovlins are Coordinator, The Mind's Eye, Little Girl and Cheerleader - Seer owls cannot block Wax Artist's hot wax nor Breaking Wheel's snap (I think this also applies to Embalmer's invulnerability). - At full presence, Feaster has an ability to mark a survivor, and he will be able to hit that survivor from anywhere on the map. This lasts for 20 seconds I believe, and is indicated by a dark circle around the survivor - You will not be terrorshocked if you are hit whilst dismantling peepers and many hunter-generated structures (including feaster tentacles, hell ember puppets and axe boy trees) - Rippers foggy, Smiley face's rocket dash and Percy's dash skill do not gain the effects of detention - Bane's hook cooldown and Soul Weaver's spit cooldown reset if they reach full presence. Some soul weavers and gamekeepers will purposefully keep their presence bar 1 chip away from full presence so they can double chip a rescuer, so be careful of that - Violinist's full presence ability will activate on the opposite side of where he is standing (e.g. if he is standing on the left of the string, the skill with activate on the right, and vice versa) - Wax artist's hot wax does not reset the wax count on survivors if they have normal wax on them, but if he waxes a survivor with normal wax whilst the survivor has hot wax on them, the wax on the survivor will reset. - Any height limited skill can be avoided by going high enough (or low enough) (via stairs or abilities). These include vio notes, any hunter traps fools gold ground collapse, bonbon bombs, Naiad water and polun snap I believe - Polun's full presence auto spike ability when he switches out of wheel form can be cancelled if you stun him before it activates. His snap can also be cancelled by stuns as well. - Keigan's hit recordings share detention effects (meaning they will do 1 normal hit of damage instead of 0.5). If the hit recording was recorded before detention was activated though, it will only do 0.5 damage, even if she plays it whilst on detention If you use Little Girl's leech on Patient while he decodes, he will not get his decoding debuff (which is activated when he decodes with female survivors except psychologist). I believe this also applies to other character reliant decoding buffs or debuffs. - Mary's mirror, Smiley's dash and Percy's dash can terrorshock - If the hunter is swinging against a wall you are behind or in mid air whilst they are chasing you, they are most likely trying to bait a blink. - Axe boy cannot basic hit when he is pulling in a soul - You can still pull off a rescue if you get hit my a feaster tentacle or a jack foggy if you rescue as soon as they hit you. This is because both have a short animation after their skills hit which is just long enough for a rescue. Damn that was long, but hope it helps

genuine tip: watch pro players. coa, ivs, ijl, etc are all really good for getting better ideas on how to kite meta hunters (nightwatch, geisha, disciple, opera singer now that shes allowed in tournaments). of course you still have to practice, but it helps youe establish a lot of game sense and see things better from a hunter persoective. the alternative is playinng hunters youre bad at kiting against to figure out their weaknesses/counters (i did this with wu chang years ago as a new player and now im comfy kiting against a wc) but also their strengths. those are extremely general tips but i love playing idv so much and have for years so this isnt a pro talking, just another fan of the game. good luck with learning! its hard, but fun. i believe in you!

i legit carry the match as composer 99.9% of the time. I FEEL LIKE GOD. Also, tip for dropping pallets! if the hunter is too close, don't drop the pallet! They'll 100% swing and you'll get hit. Just keep going through. Sometimes getting hit is unavoidable, so try not to feel too bad. Make sure you pay attention to their reaction to undropped pallets, too. If they stop and swing you should be good to just keep looping for a while, but make sure you continue to pay attention in case that changes.

THE FLYWHEEL AND GETTING HIT THROUGH PALLETS RUINED LOTS OF GAMES FOR MEEE- I feel ya about kiting better after chair or as 2nd chase bc I be kiting 5s and then pulling off best rebound kite known (My best kites are either last chair or 2nd chase kites,not to mention early hit/walking into hunter kites lmao...area selection be both saving and ruining my ass)
