Little Tip: If you run back inside after it blows up you can find an Energy Tank. There's no enemies or hazards so it's a safe way to regain all that lost health.

On one hand, I'm not sure how I feel about the scripting however I love that it subverted the trope in that you don't actually make it in time.

I remember doing this for the first time. I read the info to this place and took notice of the part where it said that it would blow up if the temperature changed, then I got the Power Bomb and I reeled back with a disturbed look on my face. Saw that the door was locked and said "You're really gonna make me do this aren't you?" At the end when the explosion happened, I swear I felt my heart dip down in shock. God damn was this such a good part of the game, though I swear I lost about five years of my life from that.

I was quite literally blown away by this sequence! Truly amazing work. Worthy of a true Metroid game. My heart was racing, it was awesome. Then, as I survived with 5 energy and left the room, I got hit by enemy while flying up and died. Wasn't unhappy to replay that section haha

Honestly, when I saw the light, I thought I died. And while I had 5 energy, I stick close to the walls. I got to the save point, so.

It's funny because I forgot the wave beam but had plasma at this point, it shits all over the tank prototype

This escape is simply amazing! It's my favorite part of AM2R. I even have challenges for the power plant, like minimum ammo use, no hit, low equipment, and single beam. I can also clear out the power plant in four in-game minutes. My fastest IGT for the escape is 96 seconds.

Such a pity Nintendo hated on this. This is an amazing sequence. Kind of wonder, if they ever get around to making a new game, whether they'll do a similar escape scenario?

Oh man I would've shit myself towards the end there for sure.. I was tensing up just watching those last few blockades with the morph bombs

Metroid has always been legendary for its escape sequences. You beat motherbrain? Now you got 3 minutes until you die to redo the whole game in reverse mostly.

ya know i never noticed what the thing ment by "sudden rise in temperature" untill i played down a power bomb just to see the effect of the bomb not knowing the door closed behind me and i'm like "oh that's cool... wait was that thing back there alway's cracked?" then the music starts and i absolutly bolt down the reveiled path knowing that i need to MOVE

Getting Power Bombs AM2R vs Samus Returns AM2R: getting them and then having to go through a sweat factory of an escape sequence Samus Returns: fighting a giant sweat factory named Diggernaut and then getting the Power Bombs I’ll mark it down as a draw

When I did this part and saw the core turn red and then get covered with cracks, I just said "oh shit."

Always get the Plasma Beam before going through here. It makes the boss a lot easier and you'll save on a lot of missiles.

This escape actually made me sweat

The First time i play through this section My reaction was like: "¡O, great i get the power bombs!" "Now i will just go back to_ " [door blocked] "Wait so how i am suposed to escape" -Looks to the core "Oh...." "Oh no..." . . . "Ugh" "Here we go again" . . (The final part) 5:00 . . "¡PLEASE GOD OPEN THE $&@#*" DOOR!" . . . "Guess il die_ oh wait"

This was such a great game. Never ended up trying the official remake but I almost don't want to-- this is the 'real' Metroid II remake to me.

This is by far my favorite 2d metroid. Everything is spot on. The devs should get table seats at Mercury Steam.

I wish there was a secret exit or something to escape without harm. Scripted Damage is kinda annoying, even though I know about the energy tank back inside. I must admit that this still is a cool escape sequence though, Especially with the tank prototype

Samus actually does not make it 🤯 so cool tho. She probably thought while laying there fuck i was so close. Luckily she just survives the blast. I guess if she was closer to the blast she wouldve died 100%

Samus: now that I have the Power Bomb, all that's left to do is get out. *sees hatch is locked* what? No, no, no! There must another way out of here! *frantically searches for alternate escape route. Finds blocks that can only be destroyed with Power Bomb.* I suppose I have no choice. *uses Power Bomb. Alarms blare as temperature climbs.* I have to hurry! *arrives at locked gates as temperature quickly reaches critical* OH, NO! *explosion*. *groans* h-how am I still barely alive?

The fake timer gets me all the time :D
