Members of the Albany Museum of Art Teen Art Board during the 2023-24 school year left a legacy in downtown Albany, GA: a colorful, whimsical mural designed by artist Ramiro Davaro-Comas from drawings by Albany area elementary school students. Led by Davaro-Comas, Teen Art Board (TAB) members, and student and adult volunteers painted the mural during the week of May 20, 2024, on the north wall of The Cookie Shoppe at 115 N. Jackson St. The mural was planned by the high school leadership group as a way to help destigmatize downtown Albany, and be a visible part of the downtown revitalization efforts.
