Wait.... could AMAI MASK be a monster himself? His obsession with Beauty could be his desire to still be a human despite what he is. He might hate other monsters, because they remind him of his true horrible self; danm, that would be a good plot twist.

His beauty is literally a mask for his for his freakish strength.

The reason Amai mask liked Genos was because he was ruthless when it came to dispensing "Justice" but Saitama humbled him and he is no longer what Amai considers a good hero. Genos pretty much says the same thing after Amai kills those alien survivors.

If one is endangered and a random stranger offered his help, one would have hope but no expectations from the good Samaritan. On the other hand, if a professional rescuer answers your call for help, you're entitled to both hope and expectation. The promise that a professional hero makes is a very serious one. There is a faith in them and that faith must be kept or there is no point to the Hero Association. It is this that Amai Mask understands and guards. He is especially harsh on the S-Class because when you call on one of them, you expect any monster other than a dragon (which are blessedly rare) to be destroyed.

I don’t know, compared to the other heroes he seems like the most realistic interpretation of a high ranking hero that also has a large amount of responsibly to the organization. He’s head of PR which means he has a lot more investment in the business then other heroes, he also is a celebrity who is completely connected to the hero association. This means any mistakes made by the S class heroes directly effects his business, his career, and his image. So I think he’s pretty justified

Speaking of psychotic pretty boys, the Japanese VA for Amai Mask is the same as Light Yagami...

I always pictured Amai Mask as the Justin Bieber of the OPM universe.

Honestly, Amai Mask is one of my favorite heroes. So many people believe him to be simply a narcissistic asshole, and completely ignore his strength and sense of justice. He cares about the safety of the people much more than many of the other S class heroes, and wants to ensure anyone that gets into S Class fulfills their duty as a hero. When city A was leveled, he was furious that the heroes not only showed vulnerability but also failed to protect the civilians of the city. Yeah he was a jackass about it, but that is because he needs to be. If he were much more down to earth and likeable, that would defeat the purpose of his character. He is an asshole that puts the safety of the people first, and believes that a hero's first duty is to defeat evil as efficiently as possible in order to ensure that no damage is done to innocents. He becomes the asshole when a hero fails to do so. When the monsters attacked during his concert, he knew that immediately shifting into hero mode would cause the people to panic and would only result in deaths and injuries. Instead, he handled it with grace and strength, not allowing the people to be frightened and killing the monsters immediately. People really do underestimate how strong and good hearted he truly is. His mask is that of a narcissistic asshole, but inside he fights for the right cause.

I can't wait to see Garou punching Amai Mask animated.

I love Amai Mask, tbh. He's the kind of character I thought I'd hate. Just some stupid idol type character, and yes, while he shares those traits, like being full of himself, Amai Mask actually backs it up. He is genuinely strong, which surprised the shit out of me at first since a lot of heroes even in A class had been rather disappointing. So then him being impressive suddenly made me appreciate his attitude. He's kind of a badass, a character you enjoy watching be a smug asshole even if you also think they could stand to be knocked down a peg once in a while. Idk, I just think he's an appealing character, and I like how serious he is compared to what I assumed he'd be when he was first introduced. I don't agree with his morals either, but I like that it makes his character feel a bit more complex with a potential room for character growth if he ever learns to get over himself and learn to appreciate others.

While Amai Mask having a breakdown seems inevitable, i can't see him dropping out of the association at this point. With Saitama now in class A, we will probably see more from him as the rank 1 obstacle, similar to how Mumen Rider and Fubuki got as much focus as they did.

You may not have all the facts and correct things about anime, but you are just like us, you pretty much act out what we think in our head, which is very enjoyable to watch, your are the first youtuber that I subscribed and bell notify and add the people like joy boy just based on your own opinion. So keep doing your thing, you will get bigger, but dont change.

Amai Mask was always one of my least favorite characters, not just because of his personality, but because he didn't get very many moments in the story so he was pretty low on my radar, but after the monster association arc where he got his moment with Saitama he ended up becoming one of my favorites, I love what One did with him in the last few chapters of the webcomic

I actually like Amai Mask as a pseudo-antagonist, so to speak. His motivations are quite interesting and I hope he gets his own fleshed out backstory. *I disagree with where you rank him among the Hero Association and can easily see him among the Top 3 with only Tatsumaki, Blast, & Saitama being stronger than him. It seems like he hasn't used his full power because he puts restrictions on himself to still look beautiful while fighting.*

He will go crazy and then that's were blast steps in and destroys him in one blast, then after some character ark with Blast Saitima decides to fight him just because he thinks he's better, which end with Saitma winning with very serious punch

Amai mask wants them to be prepared for threats they can't see coming, but kills the hostages that could have been used to find out things like, more ships on the way, some sort of last resort bullshit from the ship, or lots of possible threats that could be left over.
