We got our hands on the best 4WD SC Truck you can buy - the Tekno SCT410 2.0. This is a 1/10 truck with the bones of a 1/8 buggy and today, we test it at the track, go bashing and do speed runs on 2S, 3S and 4S LiPo.

Tekno never disappoints. I still have my EB48.3, never broke a single thing. The build quality on their RCs is outstanding.

@@daveshank1921 Wow. You got a great deal. They typically go for around $550. I had a couple EB48.4's. and I had a few EB48sl's way back in the day. Tekno and Mugen are my faves. Losi is a close third. The durability of the Tekno and Mugen buggies is the best in my opinion. I would say that my Tekno handles better than my Mugen. They really did create a stellar platform. 👍

Tekno Kits are so easy to build. I love their products, The MT410 is a beast of a basher. The skate park basher king IMO. It has outlasted all my Arrama and Traxxas bashers. Can't wait to get the SCT410 2.0. It's sick!

I have a MT410 also and i run it on 5 and 6s. Only thing ive ever broke was a chub and bent an axle. Tekno's are super tough

Still love my teknno mt410 years and years of bashing and everything is the way it came out the box. My tekin electronics have lasted. Same pinion gear same bearings. Only damage I've received was a cracked top plate above the steering and a bent center chassis driveshaft. Both caused by chassis flexing on huge jumps. Had to replace plate but still use the bent shaft 😅. Best RC quality company hands down out of my two decades of RC'ing.

The MT410 is the skate park king! It has outlasted all my Arrama and Traxxas bashers. The MT410 is my spirit animal. 😂😂

Before the first SCT410 came out the 4x4 SCT's were running about a second a lap slower than the mod 2wd buggies at my track. Partially because most of them were pretty brittle or the Traxxas which was strong but didn't handle nearly as well. The SCT410 came out and the first guy to get one was 4 seconds a lap faster than the rest of the trucks in the class because he was able to push so much harder. Within the next month almost all of the regulars at the track had upgraded to the SCT410. After most people moved to the SCT410 I dreaded having to marshal them because they were terrifying to be on track with.

I counted 11 Cartwheels. Based off the front wheels pointed towards the ground. Most I’ve ever seen. That rig is tough.

I love it. It's nice like a Traxxas slash, it seems great on the track even stock like a losi or a T/A, it's tough like an Arrma Senton and fast like one too. In a way it's like all the big name 1/10 scale Short course trucks in one! It's price isn't too bad either considering what you're getting. Pretty good truck there!

I had a first gen SCT410 that I have ran for years. It only destroys tires and bodies. Only broke it once going for a huge jump while bashing and it landing on a c-hub. Love the Teknos and would gladly buy another later on.

If you want something RTR and cheap, go with the traxxas slash 4wd. If you want something that doesn't break, get the tekno. I did that move years ago and have no regrets. The sct410 is an awesome truck for racing and bashing

A bit like with the Corally Sketer 1/10th MT, it's a little tank with 1/8th drivetrain. I can't wait to see it's replacement with the latest Corally updates they have been bringing

With most of my fast SCT bodies, even the "hi flow/no parachuting" ones, I always had to add in more holes to keep it from happening. I dunno if they still make it, but see if you can get Proline's Monster bash body. It's make to fit 1/10 MT wheels and tires and has great airflow with all the vents cut out, plus it looks hella mean when you have it done up

As you listed all this 1/8 scale stuff being spoken of to me just added more and more weight. I never raced, but i know there are electronic limitations as far as power is concerned and extra weight equals slower around the track.

how do you compare it to a slash ultimate or platinum? i have two 4x4 speed running slashes that handle 6s power using xo-1 diffs ect also a platinum basher/track car with the old proline extended arms and zero offset wheels, proline shocks, good servo and tyres using the stock motor and esc. ive never raced it but i bring it to our local club and love the way it drives. just abit of a mix up from stock stadium truck and mod 4wd buggy that i usually race

I got a 410.3 as a roller and I'm not sure if this thing can break on the track running 2s. At least I never have. Tekno is the king of RC.

i absolutely love short course trucks how they look and feel when i drive them. sadly i live in oregon and almost all of the dirt tracks here have either shut down or converted to carpet. its sad since i dont like carpet tracks their to grippy and in my opinion take no skill. though everyone has their own style to racing so please dont take offence. though this looks like a great rig having bigger parts in a smaller build makes it very durable. it also looks heavy though that wouldnt be a problem for how i drive. thanks for showcasing this. i probably wouldnt have know this existed intel you showed me!

Another very cool video!! As for the scale, while we're at it, we can recall that our dear little SC 1/10 invented by AE is on a 1/8 scale if we refer to the body. This is good because we are very close to the 1/8 RC Buggy, weird... Fortunately, SC 1/10 racing tires are at best 1mm less than those of 1/8 buggies. Above all, we should not be able to drive with SC 4x4 chassis in the middle of 1/8 tanks (which break up the tracks to the point of transforming them into synthetic materials like any self-respecting female bimbo). I know you can put your wheels on it but it's heavier and you fall through again. In short, this kind of chassis should be those of the new TT 1/8,...when I'm dead? And then the budget would be so much lower that it would put people out of work/or more people on our tracks?? (in Europe, that wouldn’t be too much!!)

I just built this kit over the weekend. The front camber links in my kit were different than what you had. Both ends use part number TKR5188B (but the pillow balls are the same as on your kit-TKR8052A and TKR8053A). Maybe it’s something they corrected since it came out?

I just watched your thing about the old days of RC. When I was a kid we didn't have hardened steel and carbon fiber cars for $300. I had one of the worst luck with RC back in the 80's, parents got us a head turns. The stupid dude in the car would turn his head when you steer. Anyways, everything was all fun and games till the puddle. Instantly destroyed the car. Wasn't till Traxxas E-revo till I got back into RC with the waterproof stuff, saw a video of a dude driving across a pool and crashed, dude picked it up and kept driving it. Blew my mind.

Could you comment on what temperatures the 2400kv motor tends to run at, given the pretty tall gearing 18/10t pinion? I’m wondering if it’s geared up high on 3S will it overheat, or is it better to gear lower but run 4S?

Tip for the speed run. a short course truck body acts like a parachute causing it to wheelie. For a better speed run i would try taking off the body and so be able to drive faster on the speed runs

I cannot see the big difference to the SCT 410.3. Of course, many details were optimized. But the 410.3 was also nothing less than an 8th scale buggy with 12mm hex wheel mounts and an SC body.

SL is lighter and better suited to indoor tracks. The SCT 2.0 is heavier and better suited to outdoor tracks with larger jump and dealing with wind. Both can be raced. 2.0 is better if you plan to bash it.

@@jareddavis8951 Yeah, like I said , nothing against the Slash, great basher with uber aftermarket support. FWIW, the 410 2.0 isn't a whole lot different from the 410.3..it too is built from a 1/8 buggy platform. 4mm chassis, bigger shocks than the 2.0. Probably find a better deal on the 410.3 now that the 2.0 is here. Happy bashing brother!!😎

Not exactly, but I suspect you could custom fit one on the truck. Might not look very clean though. A longer truggy body might be a better fit. -Brett

Not really. This is the result when you go very fast with a car that is not meant to have any downforce. To go fast, you need a downforce (or a ton of weight that keeps you down). This has none. It's not actually a problem. It's not meant to break any top speed records. Cutting any vent holes only weakens the body shell.

@@AMain_Hobbies thanks. I picked up tkr5570-17 from tekno. They must be for the older generation because the wheel hub pin hole didn't clear the bearings. And I didn't even get to trying to figure out how to mount the axel to the drive shafts.

Ha! While I was replying to this, the video is playing and I realized something. I bought this truck because I was tired of the 2wd slash I had bleeding my wallet on all the crap that broke/needed an upgrade when I was running it on the small track I built in my back yard. My plan was just transfer all the electronics (none of it was traxxas anymore. Hobbywing max10 3652, savox 0252mg and a dumbo)over from that into the tekno. So what if the servo only has 145oz/inch of torque. It'll probably work. It did, until it didn't yesterday, haha. The moral of the story is, the servo I have coming from amain to replace it, is the one you guys put in this truck, haha

The hobbywing I have is the 80amp 3300. I was having heating issues, even with it geared on an 18 pinion (calls for 20). I put a fan on a heatsink and put a 16 tooth pinion on, and the motor is able to play for a bit. Eventually, I will go to the 140 amp combo like you guys, except I'm gonna do the 3300 and keep it in 2s.

I’ve never owned a tekno, this truck looks really badass. But it’s just so hard for me to pay for these kits these days. 500-1000$ for a roller is just crazy to me. Honestly, I’d rather pick up 3 traxxas slash 2wd and just beat and bang the heck out of them before I purchased this.
