+GreenBarbie5 Absolutely! Selecting a well-educated dentist is the key to all this. I spent two years researching dentists in my area before I felt comfortable selecting the one I went with. My dentist actually trained with Hal Huggins, which was what sealed the deal for me. But, even with the best of dentists, you really never know how your body will react until you have them removed. Some people feel amazing right away and others do have some side effects (ranging from mild to severe).

I had 12 fillings removed in Mexico......... no freezing at all. He drilled them out with a lot of water happening. I took a tablespoon of charcoal (activated) in water before I went in. I took another tablespoon that night with water and used the charcoal every day for the next 2 days. Any particles that were swallowed were attached to the charcoal, and I did smoothies with psyllium to get the bowels happening having 3 poops a day. Coffee enemas would have been a good idea too, but in a room with only a shower it was too hard to do and I didin’t have an enema bag anyways! I have no ill effects. They were big fillings! Had them 45 years.

Hi Glenn - So glad it was helpful. I would start with the IAOMT site: iaomt.org/resources/safe-removal-amalgam-fillings/. They have practitioner listings and a lot of great info to get you started. From there I would start Googling dentists in your city/region and reviewing their sites to learn about their qualifications and if they practice safe amalgam removal procedures. Call their offices and ask. Go in for a consultation and interview the dentist. You could try "safe amalgam filling removal YOUR CITY" or similar searches. Hope that helps! Best wishes!

Hi Jessica. I had a tooth pulled on Monday, today is Wednesday, so it’s been 2 days since then. I have been so fatigued since then & have slept way more than I usually do. I’ve had a lot more anxiety too since then. My dentist didn’t seem to think those amalgam fillings were toxic. He said he has them in his mouth. My tooth was pulled just like any other tooth would be pulled. No special equipment was used. So after watching your video I’m assuming my fatigue is coming from getting the amalgam filling out. Thanks for the videos on this issue.

Hi Lucy Girl - Thanks for stopping by! So sorry to hear about the fatigue. It definitely could be. Also, any type of dental work is viewed as a stressor (or even a trauma if it's severe) to the body. And a stressor like that is going to cause fatigue and perhaps some other symptoms. I would definitely reach out to your doctor or practitioner and let them know what is happening so they can support you in the best way possible. Sending you healing wishes!

Hi. Thanks for your story. I had mine done when I was very young. May be 9 or 10. I have always had a hard time recalling any memories of when I was young and in general. Based on your research, do you believe that could be related to the amalgams? I used to be very sharp but for the last few years I feel like a zombie. Could the amalgams had anything to do with it? Thanks
@Deliciousobsessions
@Deliciousobsessions 5 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching! Possibly. Heavy metals can do really harmful things to our brain function and we are exposed to so many of them every day, not just in our amalgam fillings. If you suspect that heavy metals are playing a role in your health and memory issues, I'd recommend reaching out to a holistic practitioner who specializes in heavy metal treatment. I know so many people who have addressed heavy metals and it completely changed their health for the better. Best wishes to you!

@soaptotallyveg8493 8 жыл бұрын
thanks im considering this-do you have any tips?
@Deliciousobsessions
@Deliciousobsessions 8 жыл бұрын
+soaptotallyveg The first place I would start is by checking out the IAOMT site: iaomt.org/. They have info on there about safe removal and how to find a dentist in your area. It is definitely an investment in your health and it is not something that I would recommend people enter into lightly. I would strongly encourage you to do LOTS of research about the removal process, as well as how to support your health before and after the procedure. If possible, I would work with a nutritionist or a naturopath before and after as well so that they can help prepare your body and also help support you with any negative side effects. Some dentists also offer pre and post support, but it is typically pretty minimal and you'd get much more by working with a practitioner. Some people feel amazing after the removal, while other people experience side effects (from minor to major). You can do all the proper preparation in the world, but honestly, you have no idea how your body will react until you actually get them removed. That is why I stress the importance of doing your research and preparing for the procedure. Hal Huggins was one of the leading experts in amalgam fillings and safe removal, so I'd recommend reading through his site: www.hugginsappliedhealing.com/. Dr. Mercola also has a TON of articles on the topic on his site: mercury.mercola.com/ Hope that helps some! :)

I went to the dentist for a check up about 3-4 years ago and he discovered a broken amalgam. A follow up visit and he removed it and I had a composite installed in its place. This was before I knew anything about the dangers and special protection required for removing mercury amalgams. Fortunately I had zero issues afterwards. The removal of one amalgam the traditional way didn't seem to load my body with released mercury vapor in a noticeable way. I'm planning on removing my amalgams one quadrant at a time over a period of four visits and doing gentle detox procedures between times. I'm hopeful this will prevent any adverse after effects from disturbing them. Any thoughts are welcomed.

Hi John! I am glad to hear that you had no issues after the removal. I had quite a few removed unsafely before I ever know of the health risks around them. We will never know what impact, if any, that exposure had on my long-term health, but they were all done prior to me developing autoimmune conditions so I expect they did play a role. I think the plan you have figured out sounds great. I always tell people to take it slow and pay close attention to how your body responds. And it's really helpful to work with a practitioner who can help support your health should you need any extra attention before or after removal. Sending you all the best!

Hi Victor! So sorry you had such a negative reaction. Since I'm not a doctor, I can't really advise you but I recommend chatting with your dentist about what happened and maybe making a plan to remove them one or two at a time so you can potentially avoid or reduce any negative reactions. You might also consider looking for a functional medicine doctor or other practitioner who is well-versed in heavy metals and see if you might need extra detox support. Some people are really sensitive to the mercury and can experience worse symptoms than others. Best wishes on your journey!

Hi. I'm considering having this done, too. I was told I have about 7 fillings with mercury in them. My thought is that, as the lady said in the video, is that if I have ALL 7 taken out AT ONE TIME (in one visit) and replaced with something else, that I might have bad detox symptoms that might get really uncomfortable. So, for that reason, I"m considering only having 3 taken out in one day, wait and see how I feel, then have the other 4 removed a month or so later, so I don't go through too many bad symptoms. Does this make sense? I'm going to ask a holistic dentist about my idea about this, also.

Hi Lauren - Thanks for stopping by! I don't have any specific health updates since this video. I don't really talk a lot about my health journey publicly anymore as I discuss in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g5-Zp5x9z7C6iqs.html. I was quite young (relatively speaking) when I had the previous amalgams removed unsafely and honestly, I think those removals played a role in my developing chronic autoimmune issues 10-15 years later. There really is no way to know how heavy metal exposure impacts our individual health. The development of chronic conditions is always caused by more than one single thing. In addition to the amalgams, I was exposed to a lot of toxic industrial chemicals and environmental contaminants in my late teens/early 20s and I suspect those could have also played a role. Hope that helps! :)

I had 2 large amalgam fillings removed last week and have been experiencing this "low grade" and persistent headache for days. I hardly get headaches so it's my guess that this is corelated. This wasn't done by a bio dentist so I am also thinking I might have absorbed a good amount of mercury.

Iʻm planning to remove mines I have 6 silver fillings from when i was small, how much would it cost to remove them and replace them with composite fillings? Is the procedure painful?
@Deliciousobsessions
@Deliciousobsessions 7 жыл бұрын
Hi +Alana Paiva - Thanks for watching! The procedure was not painful at all, but I chose to have novocaine so everything was numb. As far as cost, I can't really say. I found prices to vary A LOT just here in my area so it's really going to depend on your market. I would recommend interviewing as many dentists as possible and getting quotes from them before moving forward. You want to take the time to research them and make sure that they are properly trained in safe removal protocols. Best wishes!

well since I had it done the wrong and I have health insurance I think I got mine one silver filling removed for free. If you have it done the proper way it cost a lot of money. Don't know how much and all but I think it cost a lot to have it removed the proper way. I think 10 minutes of removing it the wrong way is better than paying out a lot of money. And I didn't feel sick afterwards or anything. Now I have two small ones to go back and remove in about a month and then I will be relieved that I have no more silver fillings. A few years ago I had my 1st silver filling removed and the cavity was too deep and I ended up needing a root canal. THis time I am fine just a soar tooth but it doesn't bother me to eat and so I know that the swollen nerve causing the soarness will go down. That's what happens from all the drilling. He said there was a spot that was deep. But this tooth will be fine. And root canals are bad too and so I am lucky this tooth took and wont need a root canal. And I am rambling on.

You shouldn't need a root canal if you not having any pain, some dentist want you to have a root canal but that when you look for another dentist. I have a tooth knock loss and that tooth needed a root canal. Then my dentist set the tooth back in place. It took and I been living with it for 40 years with out any problems. I have caps. No my dentist doesn't like root canals at all he likes the patient to wait a while to make sure. I had a root canal a few years ago because after a filing was removed it bothered me a lot to eat on that tooth and the tooth bothered me a lot. This tooth is a large tooth next to the tooth I had the root canal on. I was crossing my fingers with this tooth. This time this tooth was different I went through pain for a few weeks and was taking Tylenol and then I was going to just a soar tooth or a soar tooth a little after I eat depending what I ate and how hard I bit down. Wednesday will be a month since the silver filling was removed. Well so far I get some soarness and I notice that the tooth feels a little funny if I drank cold water or bit into cold cheese or something but even that improved in a few days. THis might be the last part of my healing i hope in a week i feel nothing when i eat. And then i will call him and make a appointment to remove the other two fillings.

My sister is really big on removing silver fillings the correct way and i saw on utube how they remove them the correct way. Now i don't know how much hers cost but when she wanted to have my mothers fillings removed they found out the cost would be $5,000 dollars and so my mother didn't have them removed. I have no idea how many fillings my mother has i asked her and she said she doesn't know. She is 82 years old. My sister doesn't know i had mine removed the Wrong way!! She would of been shocked if she knew i removed them the wrong way. I guess some day i will tell her that i removed them the wrong way because i got them removed for free since my health insurance covered it plus i really didn't care. Plus my dentist has always been able do a good job with filling a tooth because of a cavity or removing a filling. In the past i had problems with some of my teeth after having a cavity etc and he always said just wait a few weeks and the soarness will go down. And he was always right the tooth always ended up fine. So i figured that even if i am breathing in the toxins of a silver filling removal at least he removed the filling correctly. Its like i have a lot of trust in him with my teeth. I would of felt afraid going somewhere else. My sister gave me the name of someone to remove them the correct way and i ignored it. But i know he doesn't remove silver fillings the safe way. A lot of dentist are like that if you want the filling removed they will listen.

I have one silver filling that I got in 2009. I had very low vitamin d levels back then. I went to a dentist who just put it in without giving me a choice to say no I didn't want the silver filling. I was at the appointment and in the dental chair. The dentist couldn't do the white filling like I wanted because of my severe gag reflex. So, without asking me if I wanted to go to a dentist who offered IV sedation so that I could get the white filling, he decided that the silver was good enough and just packed it in my tooth. I was so angry. I walked out of his dental office and found a dental office that offered IV Sedation. I got a few teeth cavities filled with white that time. I didn't talk to the dentist I was seeing when I got the white fillings because he was friends with the dentist who put the silver filling in my tooth. I moved to a different state, but went to a dentist who didn't offer IV sedation. But when a white filling needed to be fixed he referred me to a dentist who offers IV Sedation, so now I'm a patient at that dental office. The silver filling is still in my tooth but I would love it to be removed. A Facebook friend told me to leave it in my tooth because as we grind down when eating or clinching the filling gets damaged so it is best to leave it in until it's ready to be replaced. I'm going to ask my dentist because his office is a mercury free office and see if he'll remove it anyway. It's scratched, but it's still intact. I really don't want to wait until I'm 79 or 80 years old to get it removed. I think I have insomnia even though it's just one silver filling. I don't think I think clearly. I forget right away where I left my phone or something else. My family has a history or kidney and liver problems. I want the silver filling out just to be safe. The Facebook friend also said I would have sensitivity after getting the silver filling removed. I read comments from a few people their sensitivity was gone after a few weeks. It's something I really would love to talk to my dentist about. If it can be done he could fill in a tooth that the filling fell out from and couldn't fix it before because of my severe gag reflex. I'll have to see what he says.

Absolutely! Cilantro is another good one. Parsley even helps with heavy metals. Lots of natural options to support the body. The one caveat is they can be harmful to people who don't have their detox pathways functioning. Things like MTHFR mutations really impact the body's ability to detox and when you add chelators you can cause more harm than good. I'm confused. I would expect that removing the amalgam would be a positive impact immediately. Why after they were removed did you feel worse for awhile? I would like to understand why anyone would not feel better right away. Thanks!
@Deliciousobsessions
@Deliciousobsessions 8 жыл бұрын
+No Flowers Please When it comes to amalgam removal, it's impossible to know how someone will react. I know people who have felt great immediately after, and others, like myself, who have suffered health problems because of the removal (I know a few people who have had extremely serious side effects after the removal). The main issue that arises is that no matter how many safety protocols are followed during the procedure, there is still some exposure to the mercury vapors. Also, the removal triggers a detox reaction in the body as it tries to rid itself of stored metals. Unfortunately, some people have impaired detox pathways (due to methylation problems), which can make heavy metal detoxing difficult and in some cases impossible. Stored metals have a serious impact on our overall health, including our thyroid, adrenals, liver, etc. In the long-term it is beneficial to get them removed, but it's also important to understand that there could be negative effects temporarily as your body detoxes. Hope that helps!

No Flowers Please Removing amalgam fillings is like removing asbestos from a house. Your highest exposure will come at the time of removal.
@tinarett

Because during the removal you ingest more mercury than normally which can result in health issues following the removal. You should feel better few weeks later as the body detoxes. The removal itself exposes you to more mercury than if you left them alone hence it has to be done very carefully.

Hi +Sheila meri - I am SO sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience. :( I have had bad dental experiences before too and they truly are a nightmare. It pains me to hear the struggles you've had since the procedure. It is sad to hear that your dentist took advantage of the situation. That is unethical and I would be seeing what legal recourse I had against that dentist, especially if she did take care of your needs properly after the procedure. When it comes to amalgam removal, it is not something that a dentist should do to prey on patients. I advise everyone I meet NOT to get an amalgam removal without doing a TON of research, vetting properly trained dentists, and getting their health needs in order before and after the procedure. Some people have no issues, others have very severe and even life-threatening issues after. Sadly there is no way to know how your body will react. That is why it took me more than 2 years of research and working on my own health before I felt ready to make this move. For me, getting the mercury out of my body so I could detox was very important for my long-term health and also to avoid issues with conception and pregnancy. But I know people (like my parents) who have had amalgams their entire life with no issues that we know of. Again, so sorry for your struggles!

Hi +Sheila meri - I hope that legal action serves you well! Again, so sorry you're having to deal with this. So frustrating! Like I said, there are always risks with amalgam removals and that is why you have to be well-educated and seek out properly trained dentists. Not every dentist is trained on safe removal methods. That is always why I have been very vocal on KZfaq, my website, and social media about this. It is not a decision to undertake lightly. I am on KZfaq because videos are a part of my health and wellness business. I can't really advise as to whether or not you should join KZfaq and upload videos. Hi! If you haven't had any side effects from the removal then you may not react. Some people can have them removed without proper safety protocols and never feel any side effects. Others do. We are each so unique that we don't know how we'll respond to things like this until we go through it. If you do start having symptoms of mercury toxicity, fatigue, brain fog, etc., I would recommend reaching out to your doctor to discuss possible causes. Best wishes to you!

Hi Nicole A! There really is no way to know how your body will react. I know people who have had no issues at all and others who got way sicker than me. Gerardo Argueta I had 2 removed and they charge based on the size of the filling plus a removal fee, to replace the filling cost $246 u.s. dollars and the removal fee is $95, I did get sick after each removal but it cleared up in a few days, I still have more to remove

need job Did they do the entire "safe removal" procedure like the IAOMT recommends? Or did they just simply remove and replace? That price seems so incredibly low to me.
@yourmajesty7012
@yourmajesty7012 7 жыл бұрын
poolahpot yes it was completely safe, she used a dam, suction, ozone as well as full body protection and mask. It may seem low because the removal is based on how much the amalgam covers on the surface of the tooth and mine cover mostly the top of the tooth and not the entire tooth, so if your amalgam covers the top and sides of the tooth they will charge more

@poolahpot 7 жыл бұрын
need job WOW! that's awesome. The holistic dentist I called here in FL wants 400 for the first two hour consultation! It does include x-rays, but that seems VERY high to me. I'm scared to see the price of the actual remove/replace procedure! :/ I don't have a good feeling concerning the pricing. I will let you know, but it's not until the beginning of April.

I had a silver filling removed from my back tooth almost a week ago the wrong way and I have felt totally fine. When this soar tooth heals from the drilling and stuff I will have two small ones on the top removed. But like I said I felt totally fine. Some people will react to the toxins your breathing in during removal more than others. I am just relieved to get that toxic old silver filling out of my mouth that was probably 40 years old since I am 50 and like I said I will get the other two removed which I believe are more new that I probably got when I was a teenager. Again I felt totally fine. If anything I felt better. I might even have better concentration.

So glad you've had a positive experience! It really does vary from person to person. You never really know how your body will respond until you do it. Jessica Espinoza | Delicious Obsessions now it’s been almost 3 weeks since the filling was removed. My tooth had hurt and I was talking Tylenol but my tooth keeps feeling better and better. I take way less Tylenol I don’t need it anymore. My tooth still gets soar but it should be fine in a few more weeks. From the very beginning it didn’t bother me to eat on it and so I still think the tooth will be fully healed in a few more weeks. He said don’t eat anything hard on it for a month. The cavity was a bit large but not not the time I had a root canal. Now if I would of needed a root canal I wouldn’t of been able to eat on the tooth at all and so I think the soreness should go away in two more weeks. Yes it’s a long time to be soar but at least it’s not hurting like it use to and I don’t need Tylenol. So once this tooth is fine I’ll get the other two silver fillings removed. Now if this tooth doesn’t heal I can pull it since it’s in the back because root canals are BAD too. That’s my update. But as for my health I’ve been totally fine and normal. No tiredness no headaches or anything like that. I’ve been fully fine.

Hi Cassandra - I had some pain after the procedure, but that was general soreness from the dental work and dissipated with a little time. I would definitely reach out to your dentist and ask them about that. I am certain they could give you some insight as to why that would be happening and if any further repair needs to be done to help alleviate that pain for you. Dental pain is NO FUN! Sending you healing vibes! :)

Selenium helps protect the body from the toxic effects of heavy metals such as mercury in amalgam fillings. The selenium binds to the heavy metals rendering them harmless. Natural selenium in foods such as Brazil nuts may be more effective than from a supplement.

@Deliciousobsessions
@Deliciousobsessions 6 жыл бұрын
Chris Eckenrode Getting amalgam fillings removed properly can be expensive. That's why it took me over 3 years before I finally made the move to take mine out. I would definitely get evaluations from different dentists. There is probably going to be a variation of cost between each dentist. Also check with your insurance (if you have dental insurance) to see if there is any coverage for getting amalgams removed. Sometimes there is and sometimes there isn't. Many times people will have their amalgams removed over time, maybe one or two at a time as they can afford it. Depending on where you live, you may also speak to dentists in other cities to see if there is a great variation in cost. Depending on what the cost difference is, it might be worth a little bit of travel expense, if the dentist is properly trained. Best wishes to you on your healing journey!

Annapolis green dental in MD is one good and reasonable place. The price you quoted is a rip off. Our family has gotten much work done in MD and CA. Many good dentists now do to safe amalgam removal, but do not advertise. It must be done as safely as possible. Do the blood test for materials compatibility, biocomp is one. Do only one quadrant at a time. Do not use oxygen, facilitates absorption into brain. Good luck

Please, try Chelation therapy. Not the intravenous kind, you want Alpha Lipoic Acid in oral form. If you are wanting more information, search up Dr. Andrew Cutler protocol. The key to Chelating heavy metals, is to not taking tablets randomly. Anyways, for more info, please search up Dr. Cutler, absolutely amazing and extremely vital information.
