It’s so funny how Ronda got drunk on her own hype, she actually thought she was an elite striker at one point, until she ran into Holm and Amanda. Then everyone got to see just how stiff and flat footed she really was. Holly took her to school, and Amanda strait up expelled her. Such an embarrassing loss for one of the most arrogant, ungracious fighters in MMA. Love to see it

You clearly can't scout MMA. Her stand up was always weak other than her grapple and arm bar. Even when she was winning in the UFC if those were boxing or kick boxing matches only she would have lost some obviously. There was always women at her weight class who could beat her in boxing or kickboxing her whole life. There was never a point she was better.

@@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants I don't recall claiming to be a "scout" as you put it. I simply made an observation. I'll leave the scouting to the experts because clearly that's what you consider yourself.

Ronda completely disregarded the 2 piece with a biscuit and asked for the 20 piece family meal instead. I remember watching this live and saying to my friend “Amanda dropped her hands, it’s over”. When a fighter drops their hands and starts walking down a dazed opponent like that, there’s a very primal look to it. Absolutely no fear of being hit, just looking for the kill shot that’ll turn the lights off.

You kidding…with all the times Nunez had her hands and arms lowered down and not properly guarding her head any skilled fighter would’ve taken her out instantly. @@TheGreatSalsaMan She wasn't facing a skilled striker though... She correctly estimated how much she needed to defend, and acted accordingly. Part of boxing is reading your opponent's body language to see their strikes coming, Nunes did that and accurately concluded that there were no threats incoming haha. If you watch Nunes's other fights then you'll see that she has great head movement and defense, so it's not as though she's not capable of it, she just knows when it's necessary and when it isn't.

I think the thing that people dislike about her, is she is more of a fan of winning than she is of fighting. She can’t stand to be in the UFC if she’s isn’t the best, you saw something similar with McGregor. As soon as the winning stops, the fun stops. I hope she can be proud of helping make the sport grow and being one of the most dominant champions in the UFC. But she’s a wrestler now, I wish she’d stop devaluing other fighters by comparing their success to her own.

When I watch this fight I am always amazed that Rousey had no head movement against one of the best strikers in women's MMA, and her footwork was pretty much non existent. The only way she could have beaten Nunes was by taking her down, and she never got close to doing that. Nunes looked so relaxed coming into the center of the ring and Rousey had that wound up scowl on her face. And that told you something about what was to come.
@nicolashrv
@nicolashrv 3 ай бұрын
Only head movement? Her torso was total STIFF, not just the head movement. Her whole body was all the time in the same position......I would be shocked Amanda would miss a punch. And it is comical how Ronda tries to CLINCH while throwing her body back and her hands forward, it was like "here! have my head for more punches", instead of just jumping onto Nunes to avoid giving her space to throw punches..... People waste too much time trying to explain this: fact is Ronda is a mediocre amateur fighter who made a career facing soccer moms

Rousey , from a different era of UFC, unfortunately continued to compete while her competitors evolved into tenacious, skilled, strong fighters. It’s as if Rousey devolved into the kind of opponent she used to dispose of with her arm bar in seconds.

Edward brainwashed her into believing she was a high level striker. No head movement, weak footwork, and no effective blows. She needed to learn how to avoid getting hit, and focus on her takedown game so she can take advantage of her greatest strength. The arm bar.

At least 48 seconds of the first round, Ronda had absolutely no Plan B. Her only plan was to somehow get into a position to grapple & try to get Amanda into the same old Armbar that gave her almost all of her victories... Amanda compared to Ronda had tremendous striking. No match for the ex champ
