Amanda Seyfried and Naveen Andrews chat with ET's Lauren Zima about portraying the downfall of Elizabeth Holmes’ Silicon Valley empire in 'The Dropout.' The actress reveals what interview with the Theranos founder she watched 'over and over' to get into character on the set. Amanda and Naveen, who plays Sunny Balwani, share what they want to ask the real-life figures. Plus, Amanda does her best impression of the fraudster’s trademark deep voice. ‘The Dropout’ premieres March 3 with three episodes and the remaining episodes debut weekly on Hulu.

Other than the blonde hair and huge blue eyes I didn’t think she really looked all that much like Elizabeth Holmes. Elizabeth Holmes seemed much taller than Amanda S. I was skeptical Amanda could pull it off. Amanda exceeded my expectations. Despite the height difference, Amanda was really convincing. She picked up the intense crazy mannerism so well, to an extent where I can’t see Jennifer Lawrence pulling it off in the movie.

@@benjjjjsin come on, really? she was beautiful day one with the huge doe-eyes. search her name and add young and tell me what you see. to be fair it's not always easy to look good with big eyes. you'll notice lots of people with very big eyes fall into the bug-eyed camp, which of course is unattractive. so to have big eyes set well into your skull without being bug eyes is not common. 1/2 the girls I know with really large eyes are cursed with bug eyes. lot of them think they have big beautiful eyes when they're young but they haven't figured out the bug eyes don't qualify as beautiful, they just make your face stand, and more expressive, out in a non-beautiful way.

This is the role that finally shoots Amanda Seyfried’s to a whole new sphere. It was perfect for her and she’s really come through with it and became Elizabeth Holmes. Truly! It’s remarkable. Especially those who know Amanda as an actress and familiar with her and how much she ISNT being herself in the role. It’s easy to be all done up in makeup, fashion and clothes and customs, and for your appearance to be changed but how she works the voice to put it dead on, the movements, the tone and range she’s gone to to be this role is outstanding. If anything it shows what she’s capable of and I guarantee you major Hollywood executives and directors are lining up invitations to get her for their next projects . She’s done several projects over the past few years that’s went beyond comedy to really show what she’s capable of in regards to drama and more serious roles. They just did not receive the same amount of press as this role. she’s way beyond ready to get the more serious, higher quality acting jobs moving forward.

Idk I think a lot was sunny because she comes off to me as a therapist who was with someone with Comorbid antisocial and narcissism for 7 years and have a daughter with autism, as someone with high functioning autism who was raised with a father who worked for Enron which was the first part of her development not knowing what was right and wrong in biz during prime mental development, so she saw this as Normal then meets and older biz man at 18 which increased that and even the show showcases his control with what she ate, how she dressed, even whispering in ear during interviews. She needs to take responsibility. It’s unfortunate that she had all of this around her grooming how she saw the world. She had the drive that high functioning autistic people can have if they do have that specific area of interest, I have seen clients and my young daughter think that they can just do something not understanding every step or social cues and correct displays of emotion, under stress either shut down or act out. She even has the stare that ppl some with high functioning autism can have which my own daughter has which became part of why they diagnosed her was that intense dead stare. She seemed to also showcase shared psychosis or as some refer to it as shared delusion with sunny. They both are at fault but it makes one wonder if she had different parents and different first long term boyfriend as well as not been raped on top of it all, what she would’ve been like. But now she must face what she did regardless if it is antisocial, autism or narcissism or duel diagnosis. I’m not her therapist I am only going off what I’ve seen from her, my education and practice as well as lived exeperinces. Sunny is a whole other study of the psyche that people don’t talk enough about. This was a man much much older than her and she was under 25 when they met where she was still very vulnerable to grooming. And going back to her father even if she does have a personality disorder, her view on business is distorted by having a father who was involved in a corporation who did much worse long term than her’s did. It’s just an interesting case psychologically. Because maybe she did have high functioning autism but also had a personality disorder, which is completely possible. I think she really thought that business you could skip certain things until it was ready, she didn’t finish school like she should have or work somewhere else to get some insight outside of family and sunny. The creation of who Elizabeth holmes is is very intriguing.

No disrespect to Jennifer Lawrence - I think physically she fits the role well, maybe even better than Amanda, and I'm sure her performance would be fine - but I just don't imagine her surpassing Amanda in any way. The "emotional blankness" that Amanda portrayed, while still managing to show depth from within, is a revelation. And I love Naveen Andrews' humor and supportive personality off-camera! :)

It was aseome to see Naveen Andrews again, he was so good in Lost as Sayid and of course 1996's smash hit Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (jk just saw that on imdb....I assume it was Oscar worthy though).

Amanda Seyfried is an amazing actress. She did great in the role of Elizabeth Holmes. But I prefer real documentary films to any feature movie or T.V. series dramatization.
