There is an air of pureness that echo's through her core...softly spoken words piercing the soul. A child like innocence exploring a complex delicate world so eloquently conveyed as if delivered on butterfly wings...

The story that she told before playing this song out on tour this past summer makes it all the better. The bit about the bats and accompanying swiffer had me rolling when I got to see her live and I enjoyed hearing the tale just as much when I tuned into the Austin City Limits performance. Amanda Shires is honestly as as talented a storyteller as she is songwriter and musician.

I saw her at Shoals Fest last weekend and her set was my favorite. She has such an amazing voice, and brings so much emotion to every song. She's happy and fun, and a pure joy to listen to and watch perform.

Ive not taken hallucinogens for many years (sadly) and never could put into words the experience. The lyrics to amanda's song conjure up images of lsd and psilocybin trips Ive had. Really like the song. Thinking it's time I take another trip, one more before the finale...Sue

I know you’ve probably heard the song HighWoman by her band with Brandi Carlilse of the same name. But IF YOU HAVEN’T... listen to it and pay particular attention to her verse. When she sings “bastards hung me from the Salem Gallows Hill.” You feel the rope around your neck.

Jason grew up in Muscle Shoals, AL. David Hood, Patterson's dad and bass for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, calls him 'son' to this day. There isn't much he can't play. As for Amanda, she's from Lubbock, TX. and was playing fiddle w/The Texas Playboys when she was 15, pretty sure there's something in the water in that town.

Seen Amanda on a Blackberry Smoke video. Did some research. She is very talented and also cute. Love her music and style. I am buying some cd by here. Can't wait to hear them. Hope to see her if she tours. Hey Amanda..

It's a tenor guitar, which is an instrument with its own history stretching back over a century. They are typically tuned in fifths, CGDA or GDAE, which might explain why a fiddle player might gravitate towards it. What tuning she has here, I cannot determine.

I saw Amanda with Steph in London in a pub in 2014. Was a great evening. (Jason played guitar too). Seen her a couple of other times solo. Never seen her play with a band live though.
