Visited Amanzi from the 10th-12th April 2022 for an anniversary trip and Man! was i blown away by this place.
Tucked in a quaint corner of Pawna, Amanzi offers an ideal, quick get away from city life. This resort offers whimsical views of Pawna lake with the mighty Western Ghats as a background, making the entire topography look monumental.
We received a warm welcome by Natasha at the front desk who gave us a few details about the place and then were led to our room - the cocoon.
Spent the first night at the cocoon which was comfortable and spacious. The room is well cooled and brightly lit with a big ensuite bathroom. All amenities in this room were at par with the experience promised on the website. The room is well maintained.
The following day we moved into the glass tree house villa and by all means this is the villa to book. This is a double storey villa with the first floor offering a comfortable and spacious living room with 2 bedrooms as well as a massive balcony with sweeping views of the lake. The second storey offers a pool deck with a glass bottom pool and a substantially large terrace. Taking a soothing dip in our private plunge pool with a drink in my hand and watching the sun go down behind the ghats was the highlight of my trip.
Now for the food and service.
The tariff includes all three meals served buffet style at the dining area. This is the only restaurant at the resort. The buffet offers mix of cuisines and with live tandoori options such as kebabs and Indian breads. The food itself is outstanding. There is a perfect balance between spice and salt with the over all food experience not leaving you stuffed and feeling heavy. There are dessert options which were not great on all days but then again they offer chocolate and vanilla ice cream which is all one really needs in the summer heat.
There is also an extensive room service menu that offers multi cuisine options which is priced between Rs.400-800 dish depending on what you order. We tried some of these dishes during our private dinner at the glass house and everything we opted for was delectable.
They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own and it's all good.
The service offered at Amanzi is exceptional. Don't expect fancy 5 star service levels, but warm and kind people who are committed to delivering a great experience. Pankaj our server for all our meals was outstanding and ensured we didn't leave the dining hall hungry. Every request was tended to promptly with a smile.
Things to consider before booking -
Would highly recommend booking their best room i.e. The glass tree house. This space offers an unparalleled match of luxury and privacy with good service. Much better than booking an independent Villa somewhere else in Pawna. The staff does not disturb you unless you call them.
The hotel has another pool and other amenities as mentioned on their website but we didn't explore much as we were looking for a private experience.
To conclude as my partner rightly put it - this experience was not just amazing , it was Amanzi-ing !
