Fun fact. Elize (along with Alissa White-Gluz) was the ones that saved Nightwish at one show in Denver when they where touring with Kamelot who where the opening act. It was just before Anette was fired and she couldn't perform, so the band asked the audience if they wanted Elize and Alissa to do the best of the situation instead of cancelling. Apperently Anette got furious that they didn't just cancel the show and only did one more show before they called Floor. Elize was also close to being the one replacing Tarja in Nightwish, but since she was like 19 at the time they went with the more experienced Anette.

Lead singer Elize Ryd tried out as singer for Nightwish in 2005, but was deemed to young at the time. However she helped Nightwish out during the Denver debacle, when Anette was hospilized, you should check out... At the time she was singing in Kamelot. Amaranthe is a fun band. They bring the Pop and Bright to Metal. 8.3 sounds about right. You asked about a 'hierarchy' in the band. My answer... I've got no idea. BUT, I know an earlier male-clean vocalist (Jake E) left because he felt he was getting kinda left out. Their newer male-cleans guy Nils does a damn fine job. He has a bunch of power, even in the upper registers. Vocalists : Elize Ryd, Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson, and Nils Molin If you want to see how campy/zombie-apocholypse-humorous they can be, watch "Boom!1" "Processed"? Yes, and on purpose... unapologetically processed and polished. And they're a dang fine live group too. Love them all, and we are all the richer for listening to what they have to offer.

I love their work. I call them europop metal. They have a great mix of the two genres. Elize is the main lead, but they do have specific songs for the other guys. Other songs to listen to... Archangel, Boom1! and Amaranthine. They also have a stunning love song that was written for the guitarist's wedding called Endlessly. Boom1! Is sung primarily by the growling singer, GG6. Think Metal Rap

(sorry long post) Amaranthe was my no. 1 listen artist on Spotify this year. I agree that Elize is in the most songs lead lead, But they are many songs where the other guys have more presence. Thou it's usually only her and the guitarist (who is also the founder) that appears in interviews and such. She is very humble and listening to her she sees herself as an equal to the other singers on stage. I actually met her at work a few weeks ago (I was the light tech for an event where she sang a song) I got to talk to her and she was very sweet and down to earth. Really love her 😊 I actually thought you were gonna give a lover score because I have heard that some people thing of them as generic pop metal. But their sound that you mentioned is what they are going for in my view. They use a lot of synthesizers so it makes sense for that sound. They are a high energy, great hooks, catchy fun band. So in time when you listen to more of their music you are gonna get what there all about. And since you liked this song I can guarantee that you will put more song from them in your gym playlist 😄 Also maybe some fun trivia to know, They were the opening band during Sabatons Europe tour, And they have done a cover of 82nd all the way, There is also a live video of the singers performing with Sabaton if you'd like to watch. And they have also supported Nightwish in tours. They are also like Sabaton from Sweden. Elize auditioned for Nightwish after Tarja (the first singer) was fired, And she together with Alissa White Gluz did a show as front singers in Denver with Nightwish because Anette (the second singer) was rushed to the hospital for medical reasons. So yeah.. from my perspective as a big fan of all, if you are into Sabaton and Nightwish you can not not also look into Amaranthe. Also want mention that it was after a band in school who did a cover on one of their songs that opened my eyes to metal. When I was young I thought that if you listen to metal than you worship Satan, and When I got older I evolved to "if you like metal you don't like music only screaming noise". Amaranthe was the gateway band for me to really get into metal. And now Metal is the genre that makes me happy and gives me energy when I'm down and at risk as slipping back into depression.

Nils Molin, clean male vocal, has his own band Dynazty. They have some really good songs, he has an amazing powerful voice. If you wanna do reaction to some of his stuff, "Pressence of Mind", "Firesign", or one of the new songs "Advent" or "Power of Will". He also featured on Ad Infinitum song "Afterlife". Henrik Englund, AKA GG6(the growler), hosted on song "Cyanide" by industrial metal band Mesmerized, and on song "Snake" by Blind Channel, a... I guess nu metal-ish(self indentified "violent pop") band who represented Finland in this year's Eurovision song contest(with a different song, "Dark Side"). All those would be a worthwhile checking out. Thank you byeeeee. :)

Great reaction! The clean male actually is a lead singer in his own band, Dynazty (you should check Presence of Mind). Also, there are other songs where it's just a combination of 2 of these singers as opposed to all 3 (Crystalline, Boom!1, GG6). You should definitely check out more from them, very unique band and one of my favorites!

Great reaction again. In most songs all 3 of them have equal parts vocally but there are also songs where only 1 or 2 of the vocalists appear.

You need to hear three different tracks: Do or Die feat. Angela Gossow GG6 82nd All The Way (Cover of Sabaton) Each one is different, and shows how the band puts together different songs -- and Elize has a really nice voice, in terms of tone and range. Plus, Henrik has invented "growl rapping" for GG6. Check out more of Amaranthe!

You have reacted to a lot of the bands I listen to. I am an old dog but I hate music before 2011. Guess the newer stuff makes me feel younger. Besides I rather listen to songs I have only heard less then 100 times instead of the older stuff I heard 10,000 of time. There are some other bands either I or others might get you to check out later.

Yeah, not my favourite Amaranthe song, but it's good enough. Not nearly enough techno in fushion in this one... Check out "Drop dead cynical", and "Digital world", those are more fun. Or "Boom!1", where the guys are the lead/co-lead for a change. Without Elize ... no Amaranthe I think.
