I love my Amaryllis. And love them even more when they produce babies that I can divide and plant up to double the beauty in my home. In this video I show how to easily divide (propagate) the bulblets from their mother, as well as how to plant them up and tips on how to best grow your Amaryllis.
These are one of the very best plants that produce the most beautiful flowers inside your home right when you need them. When grown correctly they are of the most rewarding houseplants a gardener can grow.
I also speak to how to divide your Amaryllis bulbs if grown directly in the ground. So if you are lucky enough to live where they can be planted in the soil, be sure to watch as well.

My father only had one Amaryllis that he had for years and it always bloomed. When he passed, I became its new caretaker. I got it to bloom after one year of care but in the end it died in the Tucson heat. But, you have inspired me to try again. Your channel is great!

Im in zone 9b south Louisiana, i have about 50 large bulbs outside and I've picked up over 50 pups just this year . Christmas gifts lol😂

I have one that is coming up to its 3rd Christmas. It’s still outside at the moment, likely coming in a week or so. My question is do I cut the leaves down now and let it rest to begin its growth for the new stalk to form?

i've stopped trying to time it for christmas blooming and just let them bloom on their own schedule. less things to think about!

@@plantvibrationsI am not worried about Christmas blooming and I just covered my potted plants with a black garbage bag and put them into my covered window well outside. I didn’t cut the foliage back, though. They haven’t been watered in some time, now. Should I have cut the foliage back or just wait for them to wither on their own?

Hi I'm in zone 5b. I typically put the Amaryllis bulbs in a pot outside in dappled light for the summer. I take them in, probably today after separating them and empty the dirt in the pot. I put the bills in the same empty pot in a closet to dry and repot two months later for the winter bloom. Do you have a better method for me?

I just got the red amaryllis from QVC. I live in Florida, Orlando area, can I keep the plant outside all year long? and never bring it inside?

I inherited an amaryllis bulb about the size of a softball. The 3 leaves ‘were’ about 2.5’ tall. I followed all general planting instructions, (before finding your channel) but the leaves yellowed. Any suggestions?

Keep them in a dark and cool location for the next two months and then plant back up

Hi Devin Have you grown amaryllis from seed? I'm wondering should the seedling be put into dormancy? No one talks about the seedlings 😅

I sprouted seeds in a deep little bowl they take a real long time. Over a month. Leave them in the water till their is one green leaf. I'm going to watch the video the amaryllis man made on hydrogen peroxide. On the formula. I remember him saying don't get it on the leaves. Don't want to bring in any bugs. One year I brought in aphids in had a big problem all winter trying to get rid of them.

@@michaelhornyak7506I use 2tbls of 3% hydrogen peroxide in about a gallon of water to clean the bulbs I'm bringing inside.
