First and foremost, no husband, in his mind right would sexually abuse their daughters. Those women abstaining from revealing the violence they experience is first sad and paints a picture of how broken they have been made to the point of taking no action. Second, that silence does not offer any sort of solution to the issue but rather escalate it. So yes, Absolutely, women should and must report any sort of violence to the police or local chief or village elders. Women just cannot watch sexual abuse happen in their homes just because the father is the bread winner, that is garbage. These are two different things: Violence and abuse, and lack of resources. This is also as a result of broken homes where peace is dim and one side does not listen to the other. In other words, communication is feeble. Husband and wife should have a conversation and bring forth the issues that have befallen their home. Then have an idea on where to go and what to tackle, what is missing and what needs to be done. This is a collective matter. I pity the wife and particularly Trubena.
