When they are above atleast 10% dmg you can bring a big combo: Light -> Light -> R -> Light -> Light -> Q -> Light -> F or Heavy make sure to wait like .5 sec when u did ur 2 lights after ur R so you reaching enough space to hit ur Q. this combo deals 76% Dmg and just looks cool :D

Just found this only works when there low low will take them from 0 to 84 Light,Light,Light E Turn around completely Q Light, Ult

I tend to not use her dash as an engage on someone unless they are in the air it seems more consistent for an actual hit atleast for me

Not true. Sol flies in any direction. Ama literally goes forward then up. Not every character just flies up. Also flying up doesn't save you if you're spiked you can get hit again.
