Nicely done...as a previous owner of an Amazfit Stratos, the only problem I ever had with it was the heart rate and firmware updates. The updates always "broke" some feature of the watch and I always had to reset it to make it function again..

I've had a few amazfit watches, including this one, I've noticed they all have the same heart rate sensing issue. Sometimes I'll measure it manually, knowing that I'm at an elevated rate, and the watch won't even be close, but then other times it'll be almost completely accurate. Very strange and hopeful that maybe they can push out some sort of firmware update to fix that issue. Other than that, I love this watch. #1 reason to buy any of the amazfit devices is because of the battery life. It's not uncommon for me to get a week out of a charge. I stopped wearing a galaxy active because of the annoyance of needing to charge it basically every night, which then makes the sleep tracking useless. Great video!

well, when it comes to recommending the watch to somebody... that was what i am here for as i am contemplating to get this, judging they had this watch upgraded from its predecessor. yes, it is a garmin fenix rival, but when they had just recently launch the new venu 2, i wont be surprise to see garmin unleashing the new fenix 7 with an amoled display in July / August of this year. great review by the way on this watch :)
@ChaseTheSummit
@ChaseTheSummit 3 жыл бұрын
It would surprise me if Garmin put an AMOLED in the fenix simply from a battery life stand point. The Fenix line has always been function over form. However, it would be cool if they had a seperate model with OLED as an option. We shall see! Thanks for watching.

Great review! The only question I have, which I have not seen answered anywhere else, is whether while using one of the workout modes you have the ability to simultaneously use other functions of the watch as well, in particular the timer or the stopwatch. I think this would be of great use to people who want to keep a record of their daily workouts whilst being able to apply the appropriate rest time period in between sets. My mi band 4 is certainly not capable of that :D

Would you recommend this, and it's ecosystem, over the Forerunner 245 and the Coros Pace 2? Someone asked me last week for a recommendation (moving up from a fitbit) and the 245 and Pace 2 were my current recommendations.
@ChaseTheSummit
@ChaseTheSummit 3 жыл бұрын
They're all good in different departments. The T-Rex makes a nice "daily driver" because of the beautiful display and widget selection. The Coros Pace 2 is probably the better multi sport tracking watch of the bunch because it provides running power from the wrist and can pair with power sensors for cycling along with superior battery life. The Forerunner 245 is probably the best dedicated running watch of the bunch with Garmin's Training Tools and more advanced navigation than the other two with Breadcrumb mapping. The Amazfit T-Rex might be the better built of the three? Hard to say. They all have pro's and con's it really comes down to the use case.

Amazfit is also working on updates and software/ app features. i can recommend it for guys that search something beyond the garmin suunto polar fanworld ;-) than your not disapponited cause you get really much smart-/outdoorwatch and its great working for a really awesome price. i dont need Nav/ active GPS routing on a watch screen outdoors, so í dont miss it on the trex pro.

What is the range for the Heart Rates since my resting HR is in the low to mid 40's. Are you able to see what HR you have at any time using the app? The other thing I find funny about the T-Rex Pro is that it passed all of the "Military" spec's i.e. 100-meter depth, 159F to -40F, you can swim and surf with it, but it states you can not take a shower with it.

How did you find the battery with bluetooth chest strap. With my amazfit stratos 2 the battery drains very quickly when connected to bluetooth chest strap compared to not using it.
