**Thank you for watching! We really like this apartment and find it to be suitable for our needs right now as we are travelling so much. It’s the perfect lock and leave apartment as it’s secure and the bikes are safe in the gated area with CC TV downstairs. We might move to a bigger place in future, but we will wait for the 100% perfect apartment/villa/house to come along! **Just for a laugh, I’ve pre-prepared some negative comments so those who are feeling negative don’t have to go to the trouble of writing their own. Just comment the corresponding number from the list below! It has never been easier to flaunt your superiority and/or negativity! 😂😂😂 1. “You’re wasting money. You can rent an apartment for $50.” 😀 2. “You’re paying way too much/You’re being ripped off. I have seen much better apartments for $XX (insert stupidly low amount).” 😀 3. “You’re so tight/cheap/stingy. You should be paying way more and not living so cheaply.” 😀 4. “You’re taking housing stock away from Khmers,” or, “You expats are driving the prices up for locals.” I had a variation of this one recently. There is so much housing stock in Siem Reap that these are ridiculous statements. 😀 5. “I pay $XX (insert stupidly low amount) a month for electricity. You are stupid/soft/clueless/being ripped off.” 😀 Please take this in the fun spirit it was intended. We've done a fair few of these apartment tours in our time, and the negative comments always seem to be the same!

I'm a recently retired single man who I lost my wife 10 years ago. I recently discovered your channel and I'm glad I did.. I am seriously tired of the political unrest and division going on in the USA and will be visiting Cambodia, and now Seim Reap, soon in hopes of retiring there and living out my life in peace. I appreciate your time in doing those and the good works you're doing.. Regards.

There is certainly good value to be had in Siem Reap. Some of the landlords are still being a little unrealistic with their prices, particularly when brand new apartments in brand new buildings are coming onto the market all the time. Yeah you half expect the patio door to be followed by a sliding fly screen door just to enter the shower. I think we'll move to a bigger place at some stage; maybe when the perfect one comes along... @@ForRiel I couldn't find my negative comment number there, so I must supply my own, to wit: #6 - "Kindly remove yourselves from my future apartment!" 🤣😂🤣😂😅 Just kidding of course. You and Jeremy (spelling) are making me rethink my retirement destination, although I originally thought Cambodia would be perfect for me. Just a small suggestion: at 0:26 you mention your electricity charge per kilowat hr (maybe that's interesting to fellow Aussies or Kiwis?), but it was only at the video's end that you said you pay about $ 60 / mth for electricity. So, a summary: Apt rent: $ 175 Electricity 60 Water ($3-4) 4 WiFi (good!) 0 TOTAL $ 239 = excellent! Very informative & encouraging...I'm considering semi-retiring in Cambodia 🇰🇭 (I'd need to supplement a small pension; eg. by teaching ESL online). Many thx...& blessings!

A small studio perhaps half that size or even a little less - would be enough for just me. Cheap to cool & easy to clean. -- Maybe even a cheaper rent price ? Location near a lot of good reasonably priced food would be ideal. -- Good job illustrating the video making it quite enjoyable !

Best way is to join cheap apartments Siem Reap on Facebook. Look for what you want and Contact the agent. I have lost count of how any residences you have had since arriving in Cambodia. I'm curious to see your journey from that perspective. I surmise you were entranced by Kampot but Siem Reap is more economically viable for working age folks. Regardless as to the reasons the result is you two have lived in a number of rentals in two towns over the past couple of years. With each introduction of a new residence there has been thoughts on how and what to look for in apartments, I'm sure this was hard earned info. My thought, question, or suggestion is to make a deep dive video about your renting experience and learning curve. I imagine your audience will thank you... until I move to the kingdom in December I am fixated on where I will live and 'budgets'.
