Are high gas prices a problem? Let’s see if HHO (Oxyhydrogen) increases fuel efficiency by an AMAZING 35%, increases horsepower and torque while removing carbon deposits from inside the engine. I install and then test the HHO generator on both a vehicle and a fuel injected generator for fuel efficiency, performance and removing carbon deposits. I purchased the HHO kit and all of the supplies used in this video.

@Charles McKinley apparently hho has a higher expansion rate, it does burn more in the cylinder then just gas. But you have to reprogram the ECU/chip and do all kinds of stuff that makes it not really worth it.. The engine starts sensing more oxygen and then starts dumping in more fuel because it thinks its running lean, so generally you're not going to get better results without heavy modification.. Also optimal voltage is 2.2v so ideally you want 6 cells separated in the car, you charge at 12 volt but tap off the batteries in parallel so you only get 2.2v to the cell..

By all accounts I should have had a 500 HP 283 Chevy, but alas nothing ever changed. I can still hear my dad LHAO. My friends and I used to make these in college, we had a Civic that we actually got up to 60 mph with. Everything was stock, except for the homemade HHO generator, BUT we did have to tune the ECU. We did learn that it makes a bigger difference with gasoline engines versus diesel engines. But we did get my 2004 diesel excursion up to 24 MPG. I swear by HHO, but you definitely have to tune the ecu to inject less fuel because the air is richer.

Made my own hho unit years ago. Did get noticeable improvements in mileage. Difference…I installed a simple potentiometer on the dash wired into my map sensor. I was telling the computer that there was less air flow than was actually present, thereby causing the engine to call for less fuel. I adjusted based on need and could turn it way down on the interstate allowing for incredible fuel savings.

Note that what's happening is that you're lowering the fuel mixture hence lowering the horsepower of the engine and creating better fuel efficiency out of it. Another way to do the same would be to take two cylinders out of combustion or have a smaller engine running. An engine with less horsepower is generally more fuel efficient as you give up on acceleration, while a 5 liter mustang has less MPG for the opposite reason. You actually don't need to install an HHO to achieve similar results.

SCIENCE? Really? Did PF Test the generator to see if higher Octane Fuels were an advantage? They are only advantageous if the engine is designed, engineered, and properly tuned for High Octane Fuels. So the same theory must apply to the addition of H2 gas. Did PF test to see if doubling the available Oxygen would improve efficiency of the Generator? Well no, because the ECU assumes that only 20% oxygen is available at 68F at Sea Level. No my friend. Whilst PF's videos are entertaining, they are very very far from being anything that could be considered SCIENTIFIC. Wayyyy too many assumptions being made and implied in all of his 'experiments'. But very entertaining.

Love the video Im a big fan. The biggest variable here is the fuel injected controller that is adding the fuel. The controller cannot see that there is another fuel (hydrogen) being added to the combustion chamber so it keeps running it's normal fuel trim. This means that selling these kits to people is just useless because they are not actually leaning out the gasoline mixture to make room for the HHO to work. If you tune the fuel injector controller (pcm) you can get some small gains in the V8 with the HHO. If you tune the generator or switch to a carb and lean out the gasoline and add HHO, you can get very good gains and maybe almost run 100% on HHO.

It wouldn't make sense to me to run 100% on HHO, being that it takes more energy to make the gas than you get in return. This means that you'd have to have some supplement of power. This could be from having to replace/recharge the car's battery, or by using gasoline/diesel. I could see running 50% as a maybe possibility just from a GUESS, but I don't have much of a clue honestly. I'd love to see some proper testing and evidence in these regards.

@@ProjectFarm Dude, try this if you able and still have setup. Run your car on gas. Measure gas consumption. Now make hydrogen outside of engine. Now keep reducing the fuel mix so you running leaner. Keep running lean until engine stops. Now add hydrogen. Keep adding fuel + air making it richer. Now how much less fuel are you using? This will tell you if you have more efficient combustion because you added hydrogen to the mix. Then it's question of power to produce hydrogen vs savings in less gas consumed. There could be economic advantages. Gas at $5/gal, it still might be cheaper to cook hydrogen at home and run it with your vehicle.

Search on this for a paper published in the Alexandria Engineering Journal (full pdf available free): Effect of hydroxy (HHO) gas addition on gasoline engine performance and emissions Mohamed M.EL-KassabyYehia A.EldrainyMohamed E.KhidrKareem I.Khidr Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt Received 8 June 2015, Revised 14 October 2015, Accepted 28 October 2015, Available online 21 November 2015, Version of Record 8 March 2016. Abstract The objective of this work was to construct a simple innovative HHO generation system and evaluate the effect of hydroxyl gas HHO addition, as an engine performance improver, into gasoline fuel on engine performance and emissions. HHO cell was designed, fabricated and optimized for maximum HHO gas productivity per input power. The optimized parameters were the number of neutral plates, distance between them and type and quantity of two catalysts of Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). The performance of a Skoda Felicia 1.3 GLXi gasoline engine was evaluated with and without the optimized HHO cell. In addition, the CO, HC and NOx emissions were measured using TECNO TEST exhaust gas analyzer TE488. The results showed that the HHO gas maximum productivity of the cell was 18 L/h when using 2 neutrals plates with 1 mm distance and 6 g/L of KOH. The results also showed 10% increment in the gasoline engine thermal efficiency, 34% reduction in fuel consumption, 18% reduction in CO, 14% reduction in HC and 15% reduction in NOx.

Try using a separate rechargeable battery bank for the electricity to make the HHO gas. Using electricity to make HHO to run a engine is less efficient than just the electricity for an electric car but would be easier & cheaper to make a HHO/gasoline hybrid than trying to build a gas/electric hybrid. Take a small 4 cylinder pickup truck, add a battery bank and some solar panels to the truck roof & bed cover. Use the solar panels to recharge the battery bank that makes the HHO. Probably still more trouble than worth but would improve MPGs depending on how much HHO is added.

Problem is AF mixture is set from the mas and the o2, these systems worked on old Beetles because we would manually adjust the carb to lean out the AF, simple procedure HHO off set carb lean till it sputters, turn on HHO to remove sputter, gently rich the mix until it runs smoothly and you get your MPG increase. Yes oil Temps were checked as was timing to prevent detonation issues. Modern engines see a cleaner burn as leaning out, so the ECU enriches the mix to offset and you get poor MPGs. These systems work better on Diesel as its a static rate of diesel going in versus a variable rate like modern gas engines. Good test but it was missing this variable.

The results were kinda neat with ours. We doubled fuel economy, but only during the first 20 minutes of driving. After that economy tanked big, but still remained slightly above normal. As far as we could deduce, it was something to do with the computer module, and we didn't have the ability to really toy with that. Great video and effort on testing the HHO generator! However, it looks like there might have been a crucial component missing in your setup - a fuel regulator. The main idea behind HHO systems is to supplement the traditional fuel, allowing your engine to operate on the lowest possible amount of it. A fuel regulator can help control the flow and ensure that the engine uses minimal gasoline or diesel, while benefiting from the higher octane level provided by the hydrogen. This adjustment could significantly improve your system's efficiency. Would love to see how this change impacts your results in future tests!

Deliberately blowing $200 when you KNOW ahead of time that it's a "perpetual-motion machine" is going above and beyond the call of duty for a content-creator. (After that crap is torn back off, he should see if it blends, and then whether or not it'll stop a fifty-cal.)

@@geth__commands_6300 Everything is relevant to weight? Gravity is not, all objects fall at the same rate in a vacuum. Time, when traveling near the speed of light is relevant for the occupant. If hydrogen is utilised you know it is used to generate electricity to operate the motors because the is not any air for the engine use, don't you. Even diesel engine submarines use batteries to run under water. Without batteries, all submarines would be useless underwater. In your insult to the OP, what does "you must be the old and new generation well done" mean? Perhaps because they are not in the correct generation, the one in the middle of generations. I wouldn't know how that could be insulting. Also now that you are aware of everything in your statement is incorrect, false or misleading, does that mean you resend your insult?

Snake oil or improperly installed? To see any improvement on a fuel injected car the oxygen sensors need wrapped with aluminum foil. this will cause the car to lean out it’s fuel to air mixture. The hydrogen hose needs put into the vacuum system generally the brake booster line with a three-way connector. A resistor spliced into the wires to the map sensor to tricks the vehicle into believing that there is no Vacuum leak. That idle air control valve will do its job and bring the vehicle back down to a Smooth idol.

There are some issues you weren't aware of. The electrolyte works optimally at 165F. Ideally you want 'ported' vacuum to draw in the brown's gas. Drilled hole in the intake is not ported vacuum. Most cars no longer have ported vacuum. If you have a PVC valve and connect to that, the benefits are reversed (you want more of the gas when you accelerate not less and PVC vacuum is reverse of that). You want no more than 20 amp load. About 10amp is optimal so as not to place drag on the alternator. You want a brown's gas output of 1 liter per minute per liter of engine size. Additionally there are other things to trick the engine into utilizing the brown's gas effectively (deals with the upstream O2 sensor and IAT). Just slapping one on can improve things a bit up to about 20% increase in MPG without other modifications. I got double on the wife's car, but for a day. Her 4 cyl ran like a 6 cyl as far as power and acceleration went. Seems the computer didn't like the car getting that great of MPG and brought the mapping back into what the manufacturer's specs were. I even installed 3 lights too. Green meaning it is on and working. Yellow meant it was low on water. Red means pull yer arse over and see what the problem is (usually blown fuse or loose wire or something but could be worse). Car would work with any of the lights on. Had to keep resetting the computer every time I used the system. Finally removed it due to the hassle. The hydrogen in that will slowly remove built up carbon. When there is no free carbon available (takes a LONG time) it will pull carbon out of any steel parts (this is called Hydrogen embrittlement). Those plates are made from stainless steel. Best plates are made from Platinum. Plate spacing is roughly 1.1mm for great results. One hot plate and at least 5 or more neutral plates before the negative plate. Some use electronics to pulse the DC current to to cell around 44kHz. The water you must use has to be store bought distilled water. Other water has contaminants in it that reduce efficiency, eat plates, draw too much current, create too much heat, and create sludge in the system. Never use salt in a system like that. It creates Hydrogen chloride gas which can be explosive in sunlight. With the dry cell, you don't have to worry about hitting bumps and drawing the electrolyte into the engine like you do with a wet cell. Remember, there is no free ride with anything. It takes more energy to break the water molecules than you get out of it. But the advantage is more efficient combustion and resulting more power and better MPG if you keep your foot out of it. Just a few tidbits for everyone. Author - redo the test but drive the car for 1 hour SANELY in warm weather so the system gets to operating temperature. Then test it again. We saw you run that stop sign! lol

@@ddddmmmm9026 2004 chevy. If you use non ported vacuum, your benefit is at idle as you have max vac applied. Once you apply the throttle, vacuum drops and the cell reduces output. That is backwards from what you want to do. I did try it on an old Jeep 6cyl too. It had a bad miss in it even though all the parts were working fine. Hooked up an external cell to the vacuum and direct from the battery. Within 15 minutes, the miss was gone and the engine ran smooth as glass. Once I disconnected the cell, within another 15 min it was back to having a miss in it. I used stainless steel plates and Potassium Hydroxide with distilled water. Plates were 1MM separated. It was a container not the wet cell some use. Plates size was roughly 3" x 5". Used 7 plates, 5 were neutrals in between the electrode plates. Edges sealed with Marine silicone. Amps were between 13 and 20 depending on the temperature. Any more that that it created drag on your alternator and much of the water would evaporate off without converting due to high heat. Had to be very careful as the solution became a toxic waste due to chromium released from the stainless steel. Gloves are highly recommended and so is eye/face protection. Bad thing about stainless steel is that it is a resistor. Platinum electrodes are the best but who can afford them??

I found I only needed 3-4 volts to effectively run my system, I used a voltage reducer to heat the water around the pvc capsule containing my plates. Had it explode a few times under the hood bc of the faulty voltage reducer getting too hot exposing hydrogen under the hood next to my headers. 😅 I was only 17.... live and learn. You need a stand alone computer and a hell of a programmer friend to get these to work on anything newer than the late 80s.
@crazysquirrel9425

@@kjruff7786 Actually there are two key components to fiddle with - The O2 sensor output and the IAT sensor. You can buy a module to tap into the O2 sensor(s) (I think it is called a PWM) to trick the computer. For the IAT, simply remove it from the air intake and let it sit under the hot hood. Deviating too much out of the fuel map will set a code and you lose your benefits. Not sure you you could fracture the molecule bonds of water with that low of a voltage. The typical sweet spot for voltage is around 28-30 VDC.
@kjruff7786
@kjruff7786 5 ай бұрын
The o2 sensor extensions actually don't normally work as most cars have 2-4 o2 sensors now and they work with about 4+ other sensors. Tricking them only messes with other sensors and the computer compensates by pushing in more fuel

Soon as people started being able to monitize their videos allot of people began to get greedy and push out crap content in order to make a quick few quid. Then since sponsorships came around KZfaq took a rapid decline into the ground. It's so hard to find dedicated content creators that stick to their ground, don't get sold to companies and don't give into easy money at the sacrifice of their fan base. Im just glad that some channels don't do that and this is definitely 1 of them. The content has stayed great for years.

@Charles McKinley i didn't do well in school, can u tell me why this had no chance of doing anything good pls? :> *edit: i read some more comments and maybe sorta kinda get it lol basic energy cost vs. what it produces? breakin apart water costs energy, and the hydrogen doesn't have the potential to make more energy than it cost to produce in the first place?
@xtnuser5338
@xtnuser5338 2 жыл бұрын
@@outseeker There is that, of course. This gizmo must actually be a net energy drain...using the alternator to produce zero benefit totals up to a net negative. If you're going to get any usable power out of hydrogen, you've got to keep it separate from the oxygen until it's in the combustion cylinder. This kit spits the two gasses out through the same tube, into a common tank. By the time they get to the engine, they're already recombined. The bubbles you see are certainly just water vapor that has not condensed yet. And it's such a tiny, tiny amount of that, that even if adding water vapor to an engine's intake WAS beneficial, there's no way any performance differences could be measured without extended run time in a very expensive laboratory environment.
