im a new player and im just now realizing how much i underestimated the value of the these kinds of interviews. lesson vids, and just listening to music is great for learning, but man just listening to to players go back and forth is such a wealth of knowledge drops i dont think better players notice. The vibrato trick of using the guitar weight isnt something id have thought of myself, but to them it just a "oh well yeah theres that too" kind of thing.

Talking about why there isn't more blues players and I think that's why it took SRV to do Hendrix covers to get noticed. Alot of people don't like the blues compared to other genres. I don't know why it's not more popular because it's the music where rock music came from. I love your playing Kirk and I watch your masterclass.

The great thing about the blues is that there really is so much you can do with it. There's so much you can say and you can say it YOUR way. I think every blues player has THEIR blues. It's just a language with which to communicate. And you can take little parts of players who came before as the building blocks of a language you can use to express yourself.

I think some of the questions Brett was asking looking for an answer for Fletchers effortless playing would be that no matter what he plays he's feeling that rythym & able to convey the rythym in his playing. So when he's milking the notes he's making them tasty because his space between the notes is still complementing the rhthym. U can easily imagine the bass & drums when their not even there. He could take 3 notes alone & make them sound amazing as the rythym is engrained into those 3 notes.

I was first introduced to this kind and humble man thanks to Jude Gold's podcast No Guitar Is Safe ( stream #69) Find it and listen for even more insight into what has helped lead him to where he is today.
