That was fun! I'm "only" 57 but Ted is my favorite athlete, probably cuz we have a few things in common. I served in the navy in San Diego and he was a marine from San Diego. My grandfather was a marine in WWII. We were both latchkey kids. We both loved to fish and if I could spend the day with one athlete it would be fishing in a boat with Ted all day (he's in the fly fishing HOF and the "regular" fishing HOF BTW).He was famous for telling it like it is and I don't mince words. I have a few very valuable memorabilia of Ted and would LOVE something from his collection if it ever comes up!

I met Ted in citrus County fl when I was very young. I remember he offered a chance to win an autographed ball, if you could answer a specific question he asked our class on our field trip to his museum. At the time, I was far too young to realize who he was and I really had not gotten into sports yet. 35 this Aug, and I still kick myself over that one...😂😂😢 lol
