@@mickymouse2445 Troodon itself is not a valid genus, but the animal shown here, which is actually called Stenonychosaurus, is valid. So yes, Troodon was once considered to be a real dinosaur, but is now no longer considered to be a valid genus. The entire genus was named after a single fossil tooth, which is now considered undiagnostic, which means it isn’t distinct and/or doesn’t have any unique features to justify it being considered a unique species.

I don't know the name of the company that made it but I know that John Favro and several others who worked on the live action lion king, used what they learned from the lion king to make the dinosaurs in this documentary as realistic as possible.

they *WHAT!?* I’m sorry, but, they’re able to not just manipulate the stuff around them, they formed fires? Not gonna lie, I wanna see how they made the campfires and the fires themselves, or at least a representation of how we think they did. edit : yeah I know they didn’t, but it’d be funny wondering how they would make fire if they could
@praisesol27404 ай бұрын
@sharky8934 They absolutely did not start fires. There's no evidence for that at all. This is just someone's fantasy. It doesn't take away that they were likely one of, if not the most, intelligent dinosaur ever. But this is like saying that just because crows are so smart we can jump to them having an intelligence on par with humans, which isn't the case.
@shorkbot4 ай бұрын
@@praisesol2740 Yeah, fire controlling Troodons may just be a thing of fantasy, but I mean, perhaps they could have taken burning sticks from natural fires that happened without their influence and sort of made a makeshift pile of sticks for a fire? Of course, that’s just my thought about this, and I’m probably wrong.
@praisesol27404 ай бұрын
@sharky8934 there's a single fictional hypothesis online founded in complete fantasy. It would be seriously cool if they did, but it's bad to pull things like that out of the air from pure speculation. Especially when the only basis for that is because they were possibly the smartest animal alive at the time. Again, it would be cool. But it's pure speculation in a vacuum

Scientists have studied that the intelligence of creatures on the Northern hemisphere is much higher on average than the Southern, and we think inhospitable variable cold climates are the cause, as you need more brain power to make the necessary planning to survive winters. The more consistent year round temperatures in the Southern hemisphere where simple migration can address some of the smaller variations require less intelligence, and so natural selection doesn't weed out those that are less intelligent.
